Bizarre Spin
And other news.
Laugh at this – a pitiful hand-waving “spin” “explanation” of the “paradox” of “individualistic” Scandinavians actually being conformist collectivists.
Nordic societies score at the top of social trust despite low on religiosity. This trust assumes (and is the result of) strong social norms and strict moral codes: Since there are virtually no kin-based power structures, trust is based on reputation-based moral codes where those who violate public trust and other manifestations of the moral order are shunned, ostracized, and exposed to public humiliation. For instance, Swedes are terrified to violate the moral consensus surrounding migration for fear of ostracism and, quite possibly, loss of job. Western societies are communities based on moral-ideological consensus…Thus, extreme individualistic egalitarianism results in moral-ideological communities with extreme levels of conformism and social anxiety. Individuals fear social ostracism for violating egalitarian norms and standing out from the crowd. It is not surprising that such a culture exerts strong controls on individual behavior to ensure conformity to the norms of a moral-ideological community. This clearly can be perceived as being a form of collectivism, despite the genetic origin actually having its roots in individualism!
So – they are so individualistic that they have “virtually no kin-based power structures” and so “trust is based on reputation-based moral codes where those who violate public trust and other manifestations of the moral order are shunned, ostracized, and exposed to public humiliation.” Hmm…that sounds a lot like a collectivist “shame culture” rather than an individualistic “guilt culture,” but, anyway, let’s continue. So, Swedes are terrified of “social ostracism” (something that extreme individualists, you would think, would not be so worried about), so that they behave in a collectivist and conformist manner. This buffoon then admits that this “clearly can be perceived as being a form of collectivism.” So, he admits that Nordic societies are collectivist (what I have been saying all along), and thus must invent a “just so story” to link collectivism with a “genetic origin actually having its roots in individualism.”
Pathetic.
Northwestern Europeans are the least ethnocentric people in the world, and they are therefore the most susceptible to the propaganda that says: “thou shall not favor your own kind because that is racism.”
That’s why Norwegians were so ethnocentric that they not only viciously persecuted their co-ethnic women who mated with German soldiers in WWII, but also persecuted the children resulting from those unions, even to the extent of putting them in mental hospitals.
Goad’s hypocrisy:
The imminent clampdown is going to be insane. We’re heading into a dark blizzard, and if there’s even a remote chance of turning the tide, I’d suggest all you nitpicking purity-spiralers put aside the endless doctrinal infighting and focus instead on the common enemy.
OK, get back to me when Goad stops bashing Italians and pseudonymous commentators, and when Johnson stops “punching right” at Spencer and Griffin.
Really, the lack of self-awareness of these types is astonishing.
No, a mRNA covid-19 vaccine is NOT going to "change your genome."
I'm less enthused about DNA vaccines; see this. The problem there is that even one integration event in one cell, if in the wrong place, could have a negative result (e.g., cancer). Likely, the risk for any one individual is low, but at a population level is more than zero. On the other hand, there is more risk having the actual virus, it seems.
The mRNA vaccine seems to me like the best bet.
