Celebrity phenotypes.

Steve Sailer has a shtick where he likes to bring up esoteric points to demonstrate how much smarter and more informed he is compared to all us peons. One of these points was the Hispanic (Mexican) ancestry of baseball Hall-of-Famer and war hero Ted Williams, who most people probably just assume was a typical British Isles-descended White American. 

The question – was Williams' Mexican ancestry essentially White or did it have considerable New World admixture?

Note this:

Williams' paternal ancestors were a mix of Welsh and Irish. The maternal, Mexican side of Williams' family was quite diverse, having Spanish (Basque), Russian, and American Indian roots.

Putting aside the question as to whether the "Russian" ancestry was actually ethnic Russian and not Jewish, we can ask how much "American Indian roots" there were.

I prefer actual genetic assays to subjective snap judgments about ancestry based on physical appearance, for example, from photos.  However, in the absence of anyone taking a biopsy from Williams' frozen body, we will have to depend on the tried-and-true “movement” method of “look at dem dere pictures” to make a judgment on this issue.

And here.  I have seen another picture of Williams’ mother in which she looks remarkably mestiza; however, unfortunately I cannot find it online to link to here.

Note that the change in racial phenotype with age shown above is not unusual; I've seen that before, particularly with individuals with discernible admixture.  It seems that different ancestries are more predominantly reflected in physical appearance at different points in a person's life.

I’m comfortable in stating that Williams’ maternal line reflected sufficient New World admixture (likely majority Amerindian admixture) to be phenotypically discernible. This background was also discernible in the young Williams, but he looked more typically “White American” as he aged. The admixture likely was not very large, but present. Given all of this, and Williams' record as a fighter pilot and war hero, would he – as a single individual - have been assimilable in a White ethnostate? I would say yes, considering that his admixture was likely at a low level and that there are White Americans who have some low level Amerindian ancestry, but issues like this should be on a case-by-case basis. What applies to the “Teddy Ballgame” case is not necessarily going to apply to most (or many) half-Mexicans who would be less assimilable for one reason or another. But some of them, certainly, may be assimilable.

Let's consider David Bromstad again.

Their ancestry:

Aged 45, the designer celebrity has mixed ethnicity as his father is of Norwegian descent and mother is of Swedish and German descent.

Gee…what happened to the “Chinese mother?”  Bromstad’s sister, by the way, has a more typical Northern European appearance, also putting the “Chinese mother” lie to rest.  Thus, the phenotype of Bromstad and his mother would most likely be the result of a combination of genes present (presumably at low levels) in the genepool of the relevant ethnicities. Bromstad inherited more than his fair share of the “eat with dem chopsticks” genes while his sister did not.

These are all good pictures for Durocher’s forthcoming Unz Review essay about East Asian/Siberian admixture in Northern Europe.

We can be confident that is forthcoming, right?  Or maybe not – after all, Durocher’s reluctance is understandable given the sensitivity of the topic. Individual and ethnic amour-propre is a powerful motivator in the face of emotionally hurtful facts and hypotheses. However, as I like to say, the science is coming, ready or not, whether people like it or not, whether these fit with the current ideological fashions or not. I am confident that the progress of science and free discussion on the Internet will lead to an increase in human consciousness and apprehension of the truth. Right, Durocher?

I'm sure I can be forgiven for the plagiarism of the last paragraph above; after all, it is helpful so as to ridicule the hypocrisy of Der Movement.
