Delusional thinking:

If the group ramps up attacks on government facilities, you can expect the Trump administration to do something about it. 

No, I expect Trump to tweet that he’s “monitoring the situation,” and then do nothing.  On the other hand, any rightists who defend themselves against Antifa will have Trump’s DOJ come down on them like a ton of bricks.

While journalists won’t care, the feds will. Their attacks might be enough to get the group classified as a domestic terror group and for federal agencies to dedicate resources to their suppression. 

Does the author of this piece really believe this?

It would be a serious blow to their movement if a dozen black bloc members were hit with unimpeachable federal charges.

It’s more likely that the author of this piece is “hit” with “hate speech” charges than it is for an Antifa terrorist to be “hit” even with a powder puff.

Antifa terrorism may also radicalize Middle America. If they see politicians being attacked and government buildings torched, they will not think moderation is the answer. Middle Americans will demand a strong state response and view Leftists as their mortal enemies, not as fellow countrymen. 

No, they’ll continue to watch Negro behemoths run into each other on a football field.

Left-wing violence polarizes the nation and chips away at the center’s façade of civility. And the “Nazi” slur will lose its power if cops, soldiers, federal employees, and Trump voters are all called that and in turn deemed worthy of assault. If Middle America feels threatened, they certainly won’t turn to Mitt Romney for salvation.

No, instead they’ll turn to Warren or Harris.

Antifa terrorism is a danger to the country and our movement. In the near future, we will see American Leftists emulate their European comrades by undertaking more aggressive actions. German antifa plans to hunt down and assault known Right-wingers next week. We could very well see something like that in America. This escalation will make life more difficult for our movement, but also backfire for antifa.

It won’t backfire.

As Van Spronsen learned, the American state will not tolerate violent attacks against it. The media coddling of antifa will in fact encourage them to be more reckless and stupid – and eventually, it will come back to haunt them.

It won’t.

Antifa won’t remain untouchable for long.

I’ll believe it when I see it.  Until then, this is all wishful thinking and hot air.  And that last sentence leads to a very important question - why is Antifa untouchable now?

I hope everyone realizes that there is nothing – absolutely nothing – stopping Fat Don, as President and head of federal law enforcement, from going, right now, to his Attorney General, and to the head of the FBI, and saying: “Look, this Antifa problem is getting out of hand, I want something done about it, and done right now.  These are domestic terrorists, we need to crack down on them, and we need to put a stop to this. And for godssakes, you can start by stop letting them get away with attacking people in the streets with impunity, stop letting them violate anti-mask laws with impunity, and stop letting them violate people’s civil rights with impunity. Why the hell haven't you been doing this already? Why do you have to wait until I order you to do it?  Get moving right now!”

He can do that, but he won’t. You very well know he won’t. Constant attacks against his own supporters haven’t done it.  Armed groups training and openly espousing terrorism hasn’t done it. International armed interventions hasn’t done it. Attacks against federal facilities hasn’t done it. He’s not going to do it; whether it is out of sheer laziness, stupidity, a lack of concern, or secret agreement with Antifa objectives, Trump simply will not act.

Now, ”will not act” is, granted, a bit of hyperbole. I am sure that there must be something that Antifa can do to trigger Trump into action (yes, I know that putting “Trump” and “action” in the same sentence is somewhat oxymoronic). Perhaps if Antifa detonates a nuclear device on American soil, Trump may decide to more aggressively “monitor the situation.” Even worse from his perspective, if Antifa vandalizes Trump’s favorite MacDonald's, or sucker punches someone close to him, or throws milkshakes at “Diamond” and “Silk,” Trump may be stirred into action.  Maybe even continued Antifa attacks on federal facilities may stir some semblance of activity in the shambling lump of quivering lard that has to be pointed out to thoughtful foreign observers as President of the United States.  Who knows? So, no, it is not literally true that “Trump simply will not act” – instead it is true that “Trump simply will not act” in response to provocations that any other previous President, or any reasonable person, would have long ago responded to.

I don’t know what’s more silly – the idea of an energetic Trump raining wrathful justice down on Antifa, or the idea that Antifa truly believes that Trump is a “fascist” and that they themselves are “dissidents” “fighting the system.”  Hasn’t it crossed what passes for their minds yet that the System – including Trump and his administration – are either passively enabling Antifa through inaction (Trump) or actually supporting and praising them (international corporations, Democrat politicians, academics)?  I honestly believe the Left is more delusional than is the Right. If Trump is a “Far Right Fascist” why does he do nothing about Antifa while allowing his DOJ to persecute rightists like RAM?  If America is a fascistic White Supremacist State why can Antifa rampage with impunity and violate laws at will with virtually no consequences? Can all of this get any more ludicrous?
