At Gab I predicted that Taylor's ASU speech would likely contain his usual spiel about Asian intellectual superiority. Sallis is right again – Taylor in fact did mention Asian IQ, brain size, and education accomplishment. Low quality Taylor ASU video is here. He repeated the same arguments from past speeches and essays over and over again. He also over-rated the accuracy of testing companies – particularly 23andMe, which in my opinion is the worst of them.

At around 10:00 he starts talking about IQ, noting of course high Asian IQ and bigger brain size, and of course, school grades – more Asian accomplishment!  Asians are more disciplined than Whites!  At 18:45 he starts with promoting Asian supremacy and openly says from 18:55-19:05 that Asians are superior to Whites.

Sallis always, always, always right.

Thus, Taylor was inculcating into young Whites a sense of racial inferiority to Asians.  There was nothing in his speech about Asians cheating on tests or browbeating teachers into giving then undeserved high grades (“my strict Asian parents will kill me if I don’t get an A”) or, in the pre-digital days, hoarding all of the course study materials.

Here’s a nice clip for you to play over and over again. Indeed, please share that clip far and wide. The next time some gaslighting lair says that Taylor mentions Asian accomplishment merely to point out that American society is not "White supremacist," you have handy that nice little clip to share in reply, with Taylor making a blanket statement of Asian racial superiority over Whites.  That is not me being "insane" and "paranoid" - listen to the video.

In addition, in his speech, Taylor critiques immigrants coming to America to escape their failed societies. Does he know that two of the major sources of immigration to America are China and South Korea? How does that square with Asians being superior to Whites in all aspects? How many Whites are clamoring to immigrate to Asia?

However, in the end, it is a good thing that Taylor was successfully able to speak at ASU. A precedent was set, and perhaps one day a real White nationalist can speak at a university as opposed to a Yellow Supremacist.

All the cherry picked data, ignoring Chinese cheating on exams and using only educated urban populations' results, and "estimating" IQ from standardized knowledge tests - that's the "evidence."  And then there is the Irish IQ fiasco - averaging disparate IQ data sets.

Using sources I have found on American Renaissance I have documented that Orientals have lower crime rates than whites of all kinds of crimes. When I lived in downtown San Jose, California I lived "side by side" with Vietnamese. I enjoyed it.

The question is: Why SHOULD we have to live side by side with Asians?

Because they are Americans just like you are. If you disapprove of their presence you can always relocate to a "whiter" part of this great nation.

That they commit their share of crimes is a carefully concealed reality.

And, of course, Euro-Americans never commit crimes. Things like La Cosa Nostra, Murder, Inc., the Russian mob are simply fictional, right?

Against the Amren Asian Argument

A riposte.

Some try to justify the slavish Asian-worship at American Renaissance (Amren) by asserting that Amren is simply arguing that the fact that Asians have a high IQ and are so successful in America refutes the idea that "America is a White supremacist country and that IQ tests are biased in favor of Whites." In other words, the success of Asians "proves" that Negro failure is due to Negro deficiencies, not because of "White supremacy" or pro-White bias.  Further, it is asserted that this is an effective argument and we should support Amren in making it.

Does this argument actually convince anyone other than those who already believe in it? Blacks and the Left will simply counter-argue that Negro failure is due to a specific "legacy of slavery" and the "history of Jim Crow" and "400 years of White racism attacking Black bodies." The Hereditarian Left, so beloved of Devlin, will argue that Negro deficiencies mean that we need to do more to help Blacks. Asians will be outraged that they are being "fetishized" as "model minorities" and that "White racists" are "using Asians" to "disrupt the solidarity of oppressed peoples of color" (a group that includes both Blacks and Asians). Cuckservatives will argue that Blacks simply need to adopt the "hard-working culture of Asians."  Moderates and many "good Whites" in general will just "point and sputter," denounce the Amren argument as "racist," make excuses for Blacks, and use social pricing to punish those who aver that Negro deficiencies are innate and heritable. As regards White people on the Right who already accept the idea of important heritable racial differences, the Amren argument will convince those Whites that Asians are their superior, we need more Asian immigration, and White-Asian intermarriage is good. The Amren argument is profoundly destructive; it is so obviously destructive that one wonders why it is being constantly promoted.

A friend of this blog, posting on Gab, suggested that one reason why the Herrenvolk supported affirmative action for Blacks and Hispanics was to impede the upward mobility of White ethnics, who lived in urban areas and competed with Coloreds for positions and whose upward mobility was seen as a threat to Herrenvolk socioeconomic and political power and dominance.

Is something similar happening in Der Movement? Now, I don't want to be an "insane paranoid piece of crap" but haven't you noticed that HBD, which says that White ethnics are stupid, became popular among Herrenvolk in Der Movement at the same time that significant numbers of White ethnics started joining Der Movement? Is the promotion of HBD a way of stifling the upward mobility of White ethnics in the "movement?" Is defaming White ethnics as stupid mongrels a way of ensuring continued Quota Queen affirmative action dominance in pro-White activism?

There's also the possibility that personal aesthetic preferences play a role here as well.  Some folks undoubtedly prefer to hobnob with erudite Jews like Weissberg or with "smart" Asians like "Rosie" than with uncouth White ethnics like Sallis.

Statement on HBD

In the end, treason never prospers.

Non-Whites (including Jews), as well as Whites married to non-Whites, naturally have as an objective opposing pan-European racial nationalism. These non-Whites and race-mixers naturally have an interest in dividing Whites; they do not want Whites to form a unified group that can effectively compete with, challenge, and oppose non-White interests. Hence, non-Whites (Asians, Jews, Negroes, etc.) have long leveraged HBD and its various permutations to divide Whites, pitting Northwest Europeans, Southern Europeans, and Eastern Europeans against each other, using memes, paradigms, and invented "facts" that have been demonstrated to be wrong and/or misinterpreted.

So why these non-Whites and race-mixers do it is obvious; the more pressing question is to explain why some Whites on the Right actively collaborate. These traitors have a variety of motives (besides that some of them are childishly stupid and easily manipulated). You have the various Culture Retarder types with ideological fixations (e.g., Nordicism, ethnonationalism) that put them at odds with pan-Europeanism. They will collaborate with enemies of their people just so they can promote their narrow views. Others simply have personal animus toward particular White ethnies. Some push HBD lies because their career interests and academic reputations are at stake (putting aside why they got interested in this topic to begin with). Others are fixated on IQ with respect to Blacks and as long as they can beat that drum they don't care what falsehoods get promoted. Some people need some simple explanation for the world of racial differences. Whatever the reason, their use of lies and pseudoscience in the service of race treason is inexcusable.

Whither Asians?

If Asians are really superior to Whites in every way, then the only reason I can see as to why they immigrate to majority White nations is for the purpose of colonization, expansion, domination, and conquest. Why else would the superior Asians leave their high level nations and cultures and go slumming with the Euro-Proles?

So, either they are really not superior, and must immigrate to someone else's higher standard nations, or, if they are superior, then they are ruthless colonizers out to dispossess the White man. Which is it?

In response to my post here, Gab user LeoJacka9794 who often makes very interesting comments to my Gab posts, provides a list of various HBD ad hoc hypothesis hand-waving, as well as other aspects of HBD pseudoscience. His lists are put together here:

- cold winter theory and their eskimo copes (Their newest one is that eskimos were less group selected and nordics are very group selected Dutton's view).

- Catholicism (as being somehow super eugenic compared to orthodoxy) and hajnal theory.

- over-rating north Korea so you can't use a good international relations for south korea sucess, its just their biology that their successful.

- Ignoring "the klineberg fallacy" (immigrants are not always representative of origin) when it comes to asian immigrants but acknowledging it with africans (I think Jensen who coined it, commited this fallacy). Also using selective high schools like Stuyvesant as objective metrics for smartness and not just immigrant preferences (HBDer edrealist is getting push back for acknowledging this about these high schools)

- Japanese and Korean isolation to cope with Asian under-achievement, that argument can easily apply to Africans.

This all is accurate in its description of HBD mendacity. HBD is a POLITICAL movement designed to privilege Jewish and Asian interests over those of Whites.

Ad Hoc Hypothesis

Relevant to Der Movement.

See this about the concept of ad hoc hypothesis – the idea that people try and protect their hypotheses and theories from falsification by adding more and more extra hypotheses to the original hypothesis and theory. So, for example, as the Wikipedia entry suggests, the theory that “leprechauns are real” becomes falsified by the lack of any evidence of their existence, so one adds to the original theory that the leprechauns are “invisible” and/or have “complex motives” that mean that they hide themselves, etc. Thus:

In science and philosophy, an ad hoc hypothesis is a hypothesis added to a theory in order to save it from being falsified. Often, ad hoc hypothesizing is employed to compensate for anomalies not anticipated by the theory in its unmodified form.

Scientists are often skeptical of theories that rely on frequent, unsupported adjustments to sustain them. This is because, if a theorist so chooses, there is no limit to the number of ad hoc hypotheses that they could add. Thus the theory becomes more and more complex, but is never falsified. This is often at a cost to the theory's predictive power, however. Ad hoc hypotheses are often characteristic of pseudoscientific subjects.

Of course, sometimes modification of hypotheses is necessary and so ad hoc approaches are not always wrong, but typically speaking, the ad hoc approach is flawed. When ad hoc approaches are used to “re-adjust” a theory, a hypothesis, that has been falsified, specifically to save it from that falsification, and even more so, when the ad hoc hypotheses violate Occam’s razor by continuously adding superfluous complexity compared to more parsimonious alternative theories that have not been falsified and have more predictive power, then we observe inappropriate ad hoc hypotheses.

For example, the HBD Nordicists claim as part of their theory, their hypothesis, the importance of intra-European differences in individualism vs. collectivism, with groups descended from (altruistic) northern hunter-gatherers, exemplified by Scandinavians, being extremely individualistic, particularly compared to those selfish collectivist swarthoids and other non-Nordic groups.

This is falsified by data such as this. See the Y axis, which describes group individualism vs. collectivism. On the one hand, Sweden and Denmark are more individualistic than, say, Spain, Russia, or Poland (but Russians and Poles have a lot of “northern hunter gatherer” ancestry, so their collectivism is itself a partial refutation of HBD Nordicism). However, Swedes and Danes are no more individualistic than are Italians or French, and less so than Hungarians. Germanic Germans and Austrians, as well as Northern European Estonians and Finns, are more collectivist than Italians, French, and Hungarians. Most individualistic are countries of the Anglosphere, which seems a particular characteristic of British-derived cultures; these nations are significantly more individualistic than Scandinavians. Then there is the known Law of Jante extreme collectivist conformity of Scandinavian culture, which also falsifies the HBD-Nordicist theory.  

How do the HBD Nordicists then do the “leprechaun trick” to save their pseudoscientific theory?  The HBD Nordicists engage in spin, invoking ad hoc hypotheses, to state (and I kid you not) that Scandinavians are collectivist conformists precisely because they are so individualistic! Thus, you see, they are so ultra-individualistic that they exhibit extreme egalitarianism, which needs to be enforced by collectivist social norms via rigidly conformist behavior.

However, this is a tacit admission that Scandinavians are indeed somewhat collectivist (regardless of the reason), which is sufficient to falsify the original hypothesis. Thus, all of the hand-waving spin is nothing else but ad hoc hypotheses added on to avoid acceptance of that falsification.

There are alternative theories to explain intra-European differences in behavior, such as mine that NW Europeans underwent ethnogenesis in an environment in which their enemies, those they engaged in conflict with, were other Europeans (given the greater geographic distance of NW Europe from Africa-Asia), while in Southern and Eastern Europe, conflict with Afro-Asiatic non-Europeans was an important part of ethnogenesis. Thus, NW Europeans evolved a “narcissism of small differences” ethnocentrism toward those relatively similar to themselves but somewhat different; however, they are indifferent to, or welcoming to, truly alien peoples. Other Europeans, those from the South and East, have a much stronger negative reaction to racially alien non-Europeans than they do to other Europeans (other Europeans that they did have conflicts with as well, but the difference is the presence of constant conflict with the more racially alien others).  Now, this theory may be wrong, but I am not going to engage in ad hoc nonsense to save it, and, as it currently stands, it is more parsimonious than “Scandinavians are collectivist because they are so individualistic” HBD Nordicist nonsense.

Other methods of avoiding acceptance of the falsification of hypotheses include ignorance or revision. This is often used by Der Movement when population genetics analysis of old/ancient DNA falsifies Nordicist hypotheses about racial history. One can simply ignore the data (“Arthur Kemp was right” when in fact he has been discredited) or revise the original hypothesis – “The original Romans of the Republic were Nordic” mysteriously is forgotten and is replaced by “The population of Rome changed over time” (an unremarkable supposition for the cosmopolitan capital of a massive Empire, and a finding that logically suggests nothing definitive about widespread, panmictic admixture between groups in that city, much less Italy or the Empire as a whole). I suppose that nitpicking modification is also a form of revisionism – “The Ancient Greeks were Nordic” is suitably modified to “We are not talking about the Minoan or Mycenaean civilizations, nor even later Ionians but about Dorians” – the mind boggles.

Der Movement is intellectually bankrupt, a statement that requires no ad hoc hypotheses for its defense.

The Genetic Lottery: Genetic and Movement Reality

Having either alienated their science writers (cough, Ted Sallis, cough) or having such writers die on them (Glayde Whitney and likely “Hippocrates” as well), American Renaissance is forced to have F. Roger Devlin write the article that I analyze in this post.  While Devlin does a credible job here, it is telling that Der Movement is unable to attract or retain genuine STEM people.

Not a hardcore STEM field – not biology, chemistry, or physics; in this case, biology would be most appropriate.  

….at the University of Texas, has just published The Genetic Lottery, a much-heralded book that tries to reconcile progressive politics with the reality of genetic differences. 

It is NOT the place of science to try and reconcile anything with an ideology.  Science is supposed to provide a framework for understanding, and predicting, reality.  Harden thus exposes herself as a politicized hack.

Given the continuing dominance of egalitarian thinking and the ever-greater difficulty of dismissing the results of modern science, such books are likely to become a substantial genre. Frederick deBoer’s The Cult of Smart, which I reviewed for American Renaissance last year, was an earlier example.

Amren’s continued obsession with IQ (ironic given the apparent low IQ of most of those active in the comments threads there), combined with its lack of qualified scientific writers, on display once again - Devlin reviewed The Cult of Smart.

Harden studied with Turkheimer. Turkheimer, wonderful. No ideological bias there, no siree! Remember this?  A high, high, high, high, high, high IQ past Amren science writer discussed Turkheimer. Back to Devlin's review:

A recent profile in the New Yorker described Prof. Harden as waging a two-front war: “on her left are those who assume that genes are irrelevant, on her right those who insist that they’re everything.” The first group, sometimes referred to as blank-slatists or social constructivists, are an omnipresent force within the academic world with enough power to make things unpleasant for genetic researchers (though not yet enough to stop research altogether, which many would like to do). The second group, said to insist that “genes are everything,” appears imaginary. 

Really? It sounds like Der Movement, particularly the HBDers.

A few philosophers may have toyed with the idea that humans merely execute inborn genetic programs, but empirical researchers know that all human behavior is influenced by both genes and environment.

Well, environment plays a large role when the HBDers need to explain why China has been relatively backward given its “high IQ.”  Otherwise, for other peoples, it’s all genes, right?

What the New Yorker profile really means by “those who insist genes are everything” are race realists…In contrast, her polemic against the genes-count-for-nothing position draws upon her full professional expertise, so she is waging her “two-front war” in a very asymmetrical way.

What “professional expertise?”  "Social science?"  Laughable.

Genome-Wide Association Studies

Professor Harden’s work is mainly in the area of Genome-Wide Association Studies, or GWAS (pronounced Gee-Wass). Researchers choose a trait such as height, schizophrenia, or years of formal schooling and feed genetic information from a sample group into a computer. Inevitably, they find that the tallest, most educated, or highest earning people tend to have more of certain genetic variants and fewer of others than the group as a whole. The number of these variants is often very large, each with only a small effect on the trait. A “polygenetic score” can be computed for the trait, and the score has predictive value. For example, if someone has many gene variants associated with schizophrenia, his risk of developing schizophrenia will be higher than average.

That is a reasonable summary.

A GWAS finds genetic correlations — not necessarily causation…

Hey, Devlin, please repeat that to Der Movement, particularly the HBDers: “not necessarily causation.”  Now, repeat in ten more times, please.

…between genetic variants and phenotypic traits. In the case of a trait such as height, there is a good chance that many of the associated variants are causal, but nearly every trait is heritable to some degree, including such things as marital status, religiosity, and political beliefs. (This means that parents and their children — and even more persuasively, identical twins separated at birth and reared apart — tend to be similar in these ways.) For many people, it is difficult to believe that genes influence such matters as getting divorced or becoming a Missouri Synod Lutheran.

Or influence being a HBDer with a Chinatrix strap-on shoved up their ass.

Even for physical traits such as height, we almost never understand the causal genetic or metabolic pathways. We may never entirely understand them. Nevertheless, despite caveats about polygenetic scores and causality, Prof. Harden says this about education levels, which are good shorthand for intelligence:

Genes associated with educational attainment are preferentially expressed in the brain, and within the brain, they are preferentially expressed in neurons. Zeroing in on the “top” genes associated with educational attainment, they are involved in the processes that are critical to the ability of neurons to communicate with one another. Those processes include the secretion of neurotransmitters that carry messages from neuron to neuron, the plasticity of neuronal connections in response to new information or in response to disuse, and the maintenance of ion channels that are necessary for a neuron’s electrical charge.

This sounds more like correlations between genes and height than those of genes and being a Missouri Synod Lutheran.

I have no idea what Devlin’s point is with that last sentence.

Prof. Harden clearly understands something that is anathema to many of her social-science colleagues: We are not blank slates, and the genes we are born with determine to some degree who we are and how we will live.

It is “anathema” to them because “social science:” is merely politics masquerading as science.

Race differences

However, Prof. Harden applies this understanding only to people of the same race, adding the extraordinary claim that “there is zero evidence that genetics explains racial differences in outcomes like education.” 

This is prima facie evidence that Harden is a pathetic political hack.

She writes:

We cannot and should not expect GWAS results to be “portable” across genetic ancestries. What you discover in one group isn’t expected to apply to another group, and if you study a different group, you might discover different genes. This expectation is clearly borne out by the data. Looking across a diverse set of phenotypes, polygenetic indices based on analyses of European ancestry populations are less strongly related to phenotypes measured in other populations, particularly African ancestry groups.

I will take Prof. Harden’s word for how the data shake out, but it doesn’t support her claim about genes and education outcomes. First, if polygenic scores that predict outcomes for whites don’t predict them for blacks (or predict them less accurately), doesn’t that suggest important racial differences?

This is an extremely important point - not only the most important point in Devlin’s review but also in Harden’s book itself.  In her desperation to delegitimize heritable racial differences in intelligence, Harden stresses that continental population groups – i.e., races – are so radically different from each other, genetically speaking, that the GWAS from one race is not “portable” to others.  This completely and utterly invalidates the nonsense of “race does exist” and “race is only a social construct” and “we are the same” and “race has no biological basis” and “there are only superficial differences like skin color between population groups” as well the purported significance of all of the Lewontinian nonsense about relative genetic variation within and between groups.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say that the genes encoding important phenotypic traits, including intelligence, between, say, Europeans and Africans, are so different that the GWAS data from one group cannot apply to the other, while at the same time also asserting that race is only a social construct without any biological basis or significance.

Therefore, in her haste to obfuscate the issue of genetic differences in racial intelligence, Harden is forced to legitimize the genetic-biological basis of race.

But is her argument about intelligence and GWAS valid?

Second, GWAS has found race differences in comparable education-related genetic patterns to support the view that race differences in outcome are at least party genetic in origin. Prof. Harden might dismiss such studies as insufficiently “portable” across races. For reasons of funding and to protect reputations, there may never be a powerful GWAS study that definitively demonstrates races differences in intelligence-related genetic patterns. However, that means only that studies using that method have not (yet) found such evidence.

The point is that it really doesn’t matter if GWAS is “portable” between groups (I’m not saying that Harden is right about that).

For the sake of argument, let’s assume that Africans have a completely different set of “intelligence genes” than do Europeans.  You can still find that Europeans typically have a greater number of (European-specific) high-intelligence alleles and that Africans typically have a smaller of (African-specific) high-intelligence alleles. Even if there is no overlap at all between the two sets of “intelligence genes” (unlikely), you can still demonstrate a genetic basis for racial differences in intelligence, as long as some groups have more high-intelligence genes (e.g., those accounting for a significant portion of IQ) than do other groups.

Needless to say, there is an enormous amount of evidence of different kinds for race differences in intelligence, as well as many other outcomes. It has filled books by such people as Arthur Jensen, Michael Levin, Snyderman and Rothman, Philippe Rushton, Richard Lynn, Charles Murray, Edward Dutton, and all the way back to Audrey Shuey and Frank McGurk.

Some of those individuals are HBD pseudoscientific quacks. Some I am not familiar with.  

Prof. Harding says nothing about this evidence, other than implying that the people who study the question are bad.

The unbearable whiteness of genetic databases

Like other academics, Prof. Harden bemoans the fact that genetic studies have focused mainly on white people. Twentieth century geneticists in American and Europe who needed DNA samples did not look for them in Timbuktu. They got them from students and colleagues. This was not because they believed their neighbors belonged to the Master Race, but because it was easier. In the early days of genetic research, it often did not matter whether DNA samples came from a man or a dog.

We have now mapped the human genome, and the issues being researched are more fine-tuned. Some medical treatments don’t work for all races, so there is a need for data from different groups. 

Again, race is real.  If we were really “all the same” then it wouldn’t matter if the databases were mostly White, would it?

But even if there is new, broad-based research, Prof. Harden warns that “there are valid concerns that DNA will become yet another valuable resource extracted from marginalized populations by White people for the benefit of White people, while leaving participants vulnerable to surveillance, discrimination, and other harms.” If white people study only white people, that’s wrong, but if they study all people — for the purpose of helping them — that will probably be wrong, too.

Hardin is a typical “High Trust” SJW piece of filth.

Genetics and equality

The subtitle of Prof. Harden’s book is Why DNA Matters for Social Equality. This is a large claim: Rather than setting limits on what egalitarian social engineers can accomplish, genetics can help them. Her argument is simple:

When inequality is seen as stemming from lucky factors over which people have no control, both conservatives and liberals are more likely to see those inequalities as unfair and to support redistribution to equalize outcomes. Genetics is a matter of luck in people’s lives. Appreciating the role of genetic luck in people’s educational and financial success undercuts the blame that is heaped on people for not “achieving” enough and might, in fact, bolster the case for redistributing resources to achieve greater equality.

That’s just crazy talk, and leads to today’s current “equity” insanity. So, let’s give every student an “A” in every class, right?  After all, it is unfair that some are smarter than others. Short, spastic, Jewish nerds should be allowed to be starters in the NBA, because, well, let’s not be unfair; retards can teach physics in Harvard; the blind can fly airplanes; and those with hand tremors can be brain surgeons. Let’s not restrict anyone because of the bad luck of genes or of disease!  

Look, life isn’t fair. Live with it. Those better endowed owe nothing to those less endowed.  That would be maladaptive altruism. It is also destructive to society and to human progress.  Wasting resources trying to lift the botched up to the level of mediocrity is a tragic misuse of scarce resources that could be leveraged to take advantage of the gifts of the better endowed.

Race realists don’t deny that “genetics is a matter of luck in people’s lives.” Those with fortunate endowments haven’t “earned” them, and if they do high-paid work because of them — practicing medicine or designing airplanes — it’s to everyone’s advantage that work on which other people’s lives may depend be performed by the most competent people. If anyone doesn’t want to recognize chance, it’s promoters of the idea that villainous whites are responsible for everyone else’s problems. Prof. Harden should teach them about the genetic lottery.

I agree.

But is she even right to think that understanding the chance nature of genetic endowments will persuade conservatives — or even liberals, for that matter — to accept redistribution? As Jared Taylor wrote recently, it might be possible to explain to middle-class whites that people in Section 8 are not responsible for the laziness and poverty they inherited through their genes, but that will not make them more desirable neighbors.

OK, fair enough.

Prof. Harden hints broadly that egalitarians like her who understand genetics will come up with social programs that actually work and will lead to greater equality. I was looking forward to a list of such programs. I was disappointed.

Because there aren’t any.

Ignoring genes is morally wrong

Not to be too hard on Prof. Harden, I will conclude with some powerful words from her book about why so many social programs fail:

Ultimately, all interventions and policies are built on a model about how the world works: “If I change x, then y will happen.” A model of the world that pretends all people are genetically the same, or that the only thing that people inherit from their parents is their environment, is a wrong model of how the world works. The more often our models of the world are wrong, the more often we will fail in designing interventions and policies that do what they intend to do . . . .

Open almost any issue of a scientific journal in education or developmental psychology or sociology, and you will find paper after paper announcing correlations between parental characteristics and child development outcomes. Parental income and child brain structure. Maternal depression and child intelligence. Each of these papers represents a massive amount of investigator time and public investment in the research process, and each of these papers has an easily-explained flaw — that differences in children’s environments are entangled with the genetic differences between them, but no serious effort is being expended toward disentangling them.

So, let’s applaud this political hack for writing some obvious truths, right?  Der Movement sure has a low threshold for approval these days.

This is remarkably close to the conclusion of Charles Murray’s latest book, Facing Reality, in which he also asked scientists not ignore the obvious: “I don’t ask for much. I will be gratified if researchers are buffered from accusations of racism because they entered IQ scores as an independent variable in a regression equation.”

Prof. Harden would never credit Dr. Murray with a good idea. Instead, she attributes to him — outrageously — the view that “one’s DNA determines one’s intrinsic worth” and that “to be White is superior.”

But, “bravo” to her; see below.

And yet, she denounces those who ignore genes in stronger terms than Dr. Murray is ever likely to have used:

It’s stealing. It’s stealing people’s time when researchers work to churn out critically flawed scientific papers, and other researchers chase false leads that will go nowhere. It’s stealing people’s money when taxpayers and private foundations support policies premised on the shakiest of causal foundations.

Bravo for Prof. Harden. Let her words ring out throughout the social sciences and in the halls of government.

“Social science” is an oxymoron. And why “bravo” for a political hack like Harden?  Just because she writes one paragraph that you like?

But let her also consider another kind of stealing: the theft of the moral legitimacy of the entire white race. Let her at least consider the possibility that, just as the rise or fall of individual whites is influenced to some degree by their genes, so are the achievements of races as a whole.

Racial differences in narcissism.

Black individuals have been found to report the highest levels of self-esteem of any racial group in the United States. The purpose of the present research was to examine whether Black individuals also report higher levels of narcissism than White individuals. Study 1 (N = 367) found that Black individuals reported higher levels of narcissism than White individuals even when controlling for gender, self-esteem level, and socially desirable response tendencies. Study 2 (N = 967) and Study 3 (N = 315) found similar results such that Black individuals reported higher levels of narcissism than White individuals on the narcissism measures that captured less pathological facets of this construct. Study 3 also included indicators of psychological adjustment and found that the pathological aspects of narcissism were more strongly associated with maladjustment for Black individuals than for White individuals. The implications of these results for understanding the Black self-esteem advantage are discussed.

Salter never wrote that he expected that (most) people would be willing to sacrifice themselves or their children to "prevent the immigration of a million Bantus" (or anything similar) - just that, in theory, it would be adaptive if they did so. That said, it is true that people throughout history have sacrificed themselves to protect their peoples and homelands from invasion, and have watched their sons march out to war - many never returning - ostensibly for "blood and soil."

I have noted that Salterism as such is unlikely to be a direct motivator of action in defense of ethny, and that more "irrational" proximate substitutes may be necessary. That said, the best thing would be for Salter himself to write a comprehensive, point-by-point refutation of his critics, which could be either a long article or a short booklet, or perhaps a separate chapter in an update of OGI (or whatever). While I do not mind defending the EGI concept, defense is best served by its originator.

The funny thing about (Far) Right critics of Salterism is that the EGI concept is not telling them to do anything that they wouldn't be doing anyway - promoting the interests of their group, immigration restriction, nationalist activism, etc. Salter simply wrote a biopolitical analysis evaluating the adaptive value of pursuing group interests, discussing the political implications, and providing ethical perspectives. It's not like an acceptance of EGI obligates its adherents to engage in kamikaze attacks against migrant boats or to mimic the Charge of the Light Brigade against BLM rallies. Certainly, leftists and HBDers, who do not want Whites to promote group interests and to be ethnic or racial nationalists, have a self-interested agenda in opposing anything that justifies those actions. However, for people on the nationalist Right to engage in pseudoscientific, illogical gibbering to delegitimize their own group interest is, frankly, bizarre.

There is no logical reason to assert that genetic interests, and adaptive behavior, applies only to “the level of cousins,” and “falls off’ and is invalid beyond that.  What about half cousins?  Second cousins?  Where do you draw the line? Why? The more dilute genetic kinship with non-familial co-ethnics is offset by the larger numbers of the latter. Any, anyway, genetic interests are context dependent. In a world consisting of just one ethny, there are no EGI (unless that world is attacked by extraterrestrials or is facing some environmental extinction event).  In that case, only personal and familial genetic interests exist. However, in a crowded world full of competing ethnies, you can be damn sure that EGI exist and are of paramount importance.  Even more so when your ethny is being targeted by replacement-level mass migration and its demographic consequences. The fact that this is even controversial among those on the Right demonstrates that we are our own worst enemies.  If the GOP is “the stupid party” than what does that make the self-destructive (Far) Right?  The retarded party?

Real Race Realism

Considerations.

Compared to the politicized pseudoscience of HBD, we can consider real race realism, a true, genuine, authentic consideration of racial differences. According to HBD, East Asians, like the Chinese, are high-IQ supermen, and are beyond criticism. According to real race realism, the Chinese (and extension, other East Asians) are inept colored tropical people, whose nation is a festering cesspool of disease, who are an uncreative hive of human photocopiers, copying and stealing the fruits of other people's intellectual and technical work, and who are responsible for creating one pandemic after another, the latest being covid-19.

A sound understanding of real race realism would have better informed American scientists and scientific administrators. Thus, when a decision needed to be made regarding whether or not to fund gain-of-function virus research in China, the  real race realist reaction would have been:

Definitely not! The Chinese are a corrupt, incompetent, tropical, global south, colored people, with a documented history of barbaric behavior, including politically-motivated voluntary cannibalism, they are a singularly uncreative race who steal and copy the fruits of the White man's genuine creativity, they are bereft of any authentic higher striving, they mass produce shoddy, low quality, sometimes lead-infested and poisonous, junk that they dump onto other economies, they regularly produce deadly pandemics through their filth and destructive lack of self-awareness, they are untrustworthy, they cheat, they cut corners, they lie, and they would use whatever research they do against our interests. Their incompetence, corruption, and untrustworthiness makes any such research in their hands dangerous to all humanity, the potential for a lab leak (or an intentional release) is very real, and we can't take the chance. We may not be able to stop them from doing such research on their own, but we certainly should not be enabling it, and we must not fund it. It would be less risky to fund gain-of-function Ebola research in Nigeria than it would be to fund any type of viral research in China. The answer is and must reman a resounding no.

That's what a real race realism would tell us. In contrast, multiculturalist naivete helped produce covid-19, and "drop your pants and bend over" HBD gives us absolute filth who do the dirty work of the Chinese government to help cover up the real origins of that disease.

HBD would tell us that having the Chinese supermen doing gain-of-function virus research is a good thing - imagine the amazing discoveries The Holy Orientals will make compared to stupid Whites!  Real race realism, on the other hand, would tell you that having the Chinese doing that research would be just as bad, or worse, than having sub-Saharan Africans do it, with potential pandemics an ever-present possibility. Guess which of those two perspectives better reflects reality.

A brief addendum to this: It is true that MacDonald is predominantly of German descent; however, there is no evidence that his work on the Third Reich (e.g., Separation and Its Discontents) was in any way informed by ethnic bias. As I have a small bit of IRL free time the past few days, another post is now presented, to take advantage of this window of opportunity.

The grift continues?

Just the facts.  HBDers weep. Pangolins?  I thought it was “an American bioweapon.”  Now, it’s back to being zoonotic?  Should HBDers be indicted for treason?  Convicted?  Executed?

This analysis is surprisingly reasonable. The single most important point in that essay:

When viewed as a system, what appears to be coordination and sentience in liberal democracy is actually emergent behavior.

This is an error the Far Right makes as often, or more so, than the Right in general. Everything to them is a well-coordinated conspiracy, orchestrated by “the Jews” or “the globalists” (who of course overlap to a considerable degree). In actuality, much of the behavior in question is emergent from the properties of the System, which is, of course, created and maintained, also to a considerable degree, by those selfsame Jews/globalists.  So, in many cases, it is indirect, rather than direct, control.  True enough, the endpoint is the same, but to correctly diagnose the problem, and to avoid sounding like lunatics to “normies,” indirect vs. direct is an important distinction. It is a distinction with a difference, at least with respect to political optics and eventual victory.

One wonders if the same applies to Der Movement.  Perhaps some of that which I ascribe to a coordinated HBD-Nordicist-ethnonationalist alliance is, at least in part, simply due to emergent behavior of a racialist system created by, and for, Nordicists and related types of ethnic fetishists.

Still, though, the coordination among elements in Der Movement at times seems more coordinated than what is observed in the System. Is the "movement" behavior really coordinated? Reality or illusion?  Hard to say.  The recent emergence of Lipton Matthews among a variety of Quota Queen outlets, virtually simultaneously, is an example of either fairly tight coordination or an emergent strain of groupthink that is quite remarkable in its own right. Can it be possible that “movement” dogma and rent-seeking self-interest is so pronounced that the Quota Queens move in the same direction independently and without overt directing coordination?

Getting back to the Zman article, and looking at society as a whole, a fundamental problem is that human types that exhibit “dark triad” psychopathic traits tend to rise to positions of authority (we’ll pass in silence over the relevance of that to Der Movement), and such elites structure society to serve their own selfish interests. On a group level, ethnocentric and collectivist psychopaths (Jews) structure society to benefit their own group, and they leverage more individualistic psychopaths (High Trusters) so as to get the latter to work against their own racial interests (that they care nothing for) and instead support the racial interests of the former group.  Hence, we observe as a result a “right-wing” leadership that acts against White interests not much different, in the end, than do leftists.  The entire System is built to serve the interests of psychopaths, and among these, the group interests of the more collectivist are favored. The emergent properties of such a System become rapidly evident to careful observers.

Well, yes.  Re: Jews and others who support Jewish interests:

They’ll be writing and publishing anti-Black materials themselves, in an effort to capture that particular market and control it.

Yes, it’s called HBD.

And the Jews will figure that if they can keep the reaction under control for twenty years or so, for a generation, it will lose its vitality and die out. And then there’ll be nothing left to threaten them, nothing left to thwart their plan for a Mulatto future.

Der Movement is, perhaps unknowingly, part of that controlling delaying action. The words quoted were from Pierce, thirty seven years ago. Thirty seven years! And what has been accomplished in all of that time? Nothing.

Speaking of which, you can only laugh at this gibbering stupidity. Gee, well, if we can’t tell that folks are Jews due to their skin tones and hair textures, and if Jews can pass as “Nordish,” we’ll just have to parse their behavior. I mean, that’s all objective and scientific, right?  Break out the behavioral calipers, so to speak.

Are those thirty seven years of utter failure becoming more understandable?
