Kevin Strom talks about racial identity.  That is an excellent contribution by Strom and is consistent with my idea of an “EGI Firewall” – that concerns for EGI should be the minimal foundation for any objective that a society sets for itself.  Whether you call it racial identity, racial interests, EGI, or whatever, it all boils down to the same thing.  Indeed, the only significant departure between my views and that expressed by Strom here is his assertion that the National Alliance is a serious vehicle for the promotion of White interests.  It was not that when Pierce was alive, and I don’t see the organization having any long-term viability in the absence of Pierce and the regard (whatever you believe it was justified or not) he was held by the broader “movement.”

Identity Evropa: they seem, at first glance, to be sound.  I wonder if they are for all Europeans, or just (the standard) subset of them.  That will, I assume become clearer over time.  I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt now, but origins in the Old Movement, particularly the Alt Right, does not inspire confidence in this regard.  The HBD-style material at their website does not inspire confidence either.

The community service approach is excellent and something I’ve promoted for a long time, see my interview in Griffin’s book for example.  That needs to be expanded.  The vetting seems so far to be working, and is apparently goes beyond the standard “are you Swedish?” “movement” fare.  The property expansion is good, and I am gratified that the person talking seems to understand the sort of contingencies and problems involved.  I am not as optimistic as this interview as for a positive outcome of the court cases, but we’ll have to wait and see. In general, I do not believe all these people, including Taylor, truly understand the extent to which the System is committed to crushing dissident views to racial orthodoxy.

One question, particularly relevant given the forum at which this interview took place: Does Identity Evropa consider Jews to be European and hence eligible for membership?

I will very briefly comment on the anti-Semitism epistle, before looking at the Alt Right issue in more detail

This is grossly disappointing, but not surprising from these HBD-oriented types.  Most of the arguments are similar to those of Cofnas, and have been, in that context, addressed by others.  Here I concentrate on the ending:

Obviously, my resistance to antisemitism is not based in ignorance of the material or fear of the morality police. The real issue for me is that anti-Semites taste Jews in their sandwich. They are like a man who has only mastered how to use a hammer. He sees every problem as a nail. In the case of anti-Semites, everything is blamed on the Jews to the point of absurdity. It seems to me that in order to be an anti-Semite, one has to commit their life to it, like joining the priesthood or a religious cult. It must define one’s life.

This is not only wrong, but so obviously wrong it is almost ludicrous.  By mainstream standards, an anti-Semite is simply someone reasonably critical of Jews, someone who knows the answer to the Jewish Question, someone who essentially agrees with MacDonald’s position on the Jews.  While it is true that some “anti-Semites taste Jews in their sandwich” and are obsessive in their single-mindedness, that is not a prerequisite to being an “anti-Semite.”  Being “Jew aware” is simply one component of a well-balanced and informed activist life, it need not “define one’s life.”  I may well be labelled an anti-Semite by most (*), but readers of this blog know I take a nuanced and complex view of the race issue, and certain do not blame everything on “the Jews.”  Zman basically is knocking down a strawman here; it is dishonest.  If anti-Semitism is the hammer in the activist toolkit, it is quite possible to also know how to master the use of screwdrivers and wrenches.  This argument by Zman is just plain stupid.

While I bear no ill will to those of you who have become anti-Semites, I just don’t think it is the place for me. My group evolutionary strategy, as it were, is to enjoy the fullness of life, even the parts that are not so good. Obsessing over Jews all the time seems like a waste of time. If there comes a time when I have to obsess over Jews all the time, then I’ll do what I must, but for now, I have lots of other things that interest me. No hard feelings and I wish you luck in your business, as long as it does not interfere with my business.

This is even more stupid.  How does “enjoying the fullness of life” have to do with being aware of, and honest about, the character and influence of the Jewish people, and their effect on White racial interests? He makes it sound like facing facts about Jews is going to spoil his fun, so he would rather be willfully ignorant (contrary to his assertion that ignorance of the material is not part of his attitude) than have a stray dark cloud obscure, even for a moment, the sunny bliss of his life’s enjoyment.  And again, he conflates, in a dishonest fashion, being an “anti-Semite” with “obsessing over Jews all the time.”  What is it about these HBD types that they are so obstinate?

Now read this.

By all accounts, the alt-right is at a crossroads. The movement that started as an internet phenomenon and blossomed into a full-blown political force in the 2016 election….

Full-blown political force?  Nonsense.  Fantasy.

…has stumbled in the past year. Most people peg the start of the trouble at the Charlottesville riots, which were used to paint the alt-right as a bunch of torch wielding Nazis. Others put the blame on the personalities and their endless bickering. Of course, the troubles are exaggerated, but there’s no doubt that the movement is in a difficult patch.

Exaggerated?  Merely a “difficult patch?”  It’s much worse than that.  And deservedly so.  A full-blown collapse is more like it.

In order for the alt-right to get out of the ditch and become an effective political voice, the leaders of the various groups within the alt-right have to stop screwing up. The number of unforced errors over the last year, by big names in the alt-right, leave people with the impression the movement is not serious. 

Err…the reason that people have that “impression” is because it is true.  Come on now. Pepe?  Kek?  People attacking the idea of uniforms and then going to a rally dressed as if it were a cosplay comic convention?  Half-drunk podcasts?  Juvenile sniggering?  Mindless Trump worship?  When was any of that serious?

Leaders need to be something more than gags on-line. They have to be a respectable face to a skeptical public. That means being careful and prudent in their public actions. That’s not what has happened over the last year.

Because we have failed leaders, chosen by their misfit Type I followers according to strict affirmative action rules.  Garbage in, garbage out.

The first thing the alt-right needs to do is figure out how it got tangled up with people who turned out to be unstable or unreliable.

Starting with Charlottesville, that has been the thread running through all of the stumbles. There’s always a wacko involved. Whether it was a “crying Nazi” at Charlottesville or a tubby cuckold at Michigan, the source of trouble has been people who should never have been given a place at the table. You cannot make up with enthusiasm what you lack in prudence, maturity and intelligence.

“…you lack in prudence, maturity and intelligence.”  That lack is the defining characteristic of “movement” leadership.  Indeed, possessing prudence, maturity and intelligence would be disqualifying, right?

Fringe politics can be a lonely place, so it is tempting to welcome everyone, but this is why the Libertarian Party is full of goofballs. The trick is to avoid the temptation to embrace all comers and be skeptical of converts. 

I’ve been saying this for years.

Some are sincere and full of enthusiasm. These are the foot soldiers that add energy to a movement. Some are attention whores, looking for a cheap stage. Others are unstable loudmouths who like turmoil. A little skepticism about the new converts allows the movement leaders to avoid getting mixed up with nutjobs.

What happens when the “leaders” are nutjobs themselves?  

Another way of not inviting the troubles of others into your movement is to not get too close to the other movements. Quiet alliances can be quietly dissolved when they become inconvenient. The alt-right, which largely appeals to college educated suburban males, had no business locking shields with groups like the Traditional Workers Party at public events. Their thing is not your thing and the best way to avoid conflict is to keep a healthy distance. That way, you don’t pay for their mistakes, as has been the case with the TWP.

No kidding.

That’s the other thing that has to be front and center. The groups that have been operating on the fringe for generations have been on the fringe because they are either doing something wrong or they like the fringe. It’s always wise to be cautious of the older groups trying to hitch their wagon to your star. Charlottesville was not about “uniting the right”. It was crabs in the bucket pulling you back down into the bucket with them. A successful mass movement, in this age, will be one that is free of those of the prior age.

I call “BS” on this.  While I am 100% in support of deconstructing the Old Movement and building a New Movement, the above paragraph implies that the Alt Right itself is something new and fresh, instead of merely the same old crap dressed up with “youth culture” and sprinkled with Bevis-and-Butthead sniggering.  The raises an important point.  Was the relatively greater success of the Alt Right (short-lived as it was) compared to “WN 1.0” due to better ideals and exaction or just finding itself in more propitious times?  More of the latter, I think.  Whites are mewling cowards, but even cowards will begin to fight back when their back is up against the wall and they are left with no other choice.  The rapidly degenerating racial situation is creating opportunities – opportunities for the most part wasted by Alt Right dimwits.  And the rise of Trump helped them – rather than saying the Alt Right helped elect Trump (a fantasy on par with Roissy’s caravans of Amish horse and buggies converging on voting centers), the truth is that Trump boosted the Alt Right.  If Trump hadn’t run, if we had a Jeb-Hillary election, likely no one outside of Der Movement, Antifa, and the “watchdog groups,” would have had the faintest idea of what the Alt Right is.  So stop making it seem like the wonderful Alt Right juggernaut was stopped by inferring “WN 1.0 Boomers.”  The “younger groups” ruined themselves.  And what’s left of the Alt Right today are people like Taylor who calls himself Alt Right even though he was a major “movement” figure when Spencer was still in high school, and groups like Identity Evropa, who have more in common with NA-style groups than with the Pepe/Kek crowd.

Dissident politics, like revolutionary politics, depends upon reliable communication and operational security. 

Operational security: “Are you Swedish?”  

In all ages, especially this age, these can come into conflict. Making yourself available to speak to the people, make you vulnerable, and not just physically vulnerable. It makes your message vulnerable to corruption by others beyond your control. Effective communications means controlling the message, which is why the people in charge invest so heavily in monopolizing the media platforms.

And as with all monopolies, the “customers” suffer.

Building your own media and supporting the media that supports you is the key. Here is a lesson that can be learned from the New Left. They avoided the mainstream press and instead relied on independent media. They would charge reporters for access to their events. In our age, it means never going on mainstream shows unless they are live, and never agreeing to print interviews. It also means not getting into fights with people on social media. You are the message. Your movement will judged by how you are judged.

Judged as failures.

This has the added benefit of not inviting attacks from the Left. The last year, from the perspective of an outsider, has looked like the alt-right picking a fight with the people in charge, only to be squashed like a bug. That’s bad optics. When you can’t even hold a luncheon for your people, without being harassed by the Left, it’s time to accept reality and become less public. The alt-right needs to be like an iceberg with a small public face above the water line and large rank and file underneath the water line.

Reality and Der Movement is like oil and water.  What else to expect from people who take seriously ramblings about “the Pyramids of Atlantis were built by psychokinesis.” 

Another thing the alt-right needs to understand is this is not 1920’s Germany or 1960’s America. The people in charge are not weak like the Weimar Republic and they are not complacent like the post-war American ruling class. The Nazis filled the vacuum left from the collapse of German ruling class after the war. The New Left was able to roll to victory because the people in charge at the time, were largely sympathetic and even a bit envious. Today, the people in charge are not weak and they are not sympathetic. 

Those movements are not good models for today’s fight. Brawling with state sponsored goons like Antifa is a fool’s errand. Antifa has the backing of the Left and all the money from the billionaires they need. Similarly, demanding to go on campus, on free speech grounds, hoping to shame the Left with their hypocrisy, does nothing but display a fundamental misunderstanding of the opponent. The people running the college campus know that game backward and forward. There’s no beating them at a game they designed.

Agreed.

A better model is something like Irish nationalism. Ultimately, they were effective when they combined a guerrilla movement that operated in the shadows and a political movement that kept its distance from the fighters. We’re not in a world of car bombings and targeted assassinations, but we are in an age when an energetic social media troll can wreak havoc on the prevailing narrative. A guy putting up “It’s OK To Be White” signs around a Progressive hive is the modern version of the car bomb. It does real damage.

That gets to the heart of why the alt-right has stumbled of late. The alt-right had momentum when one wing stuck to making sensible arguments about the demographic reality of our age and what it means for the future. Meanwhile, the other wing took these ideas and used them in the meme war and comment sections of web sites. The reason the people in charge are dumping comment sections and purging social media of anyone with a whiff of heresy is they fear this more than anything. The alt-right needs to get back to what works.

Problem: Did it ever really “work?”

This is a big subject that requires a lot more debate, but effective activism focuses on the effective, not on helping e-celebs get mentioned by Lefty. For dissidents, effective activism makes the strong side look weak and makes the dissidents look smart. If the organizers at Charlottesville had stopped at the Friday night event, and backed out of the rally on Saturday citing safety concerns, the ensuing riot would have been blamed on the other side. You would have effectively used their size against them by being clever.

You cannot expect half-drunk dimwits to be clever.

Of course, the alt-right could only have pulled off such a move at Charlottesville if it was better organized. The overall lack of organization is killing the alt-right. There has to be small local groups of people who trust one another and will cooperate with other local groups, as long as leadership trusts them. This is a basic organizing technique. There should be alt-right clubs all over the country. They should be social clubs that focus on the politics of our age. The alt-right leaders need to focus on this rather than making noise. 

Effective organizing means not airing your laundry on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. One reason competent people are not going to want to help the cause is the ridiculous habit of drama queens from the alt-right making grand announcements on social media. When Evan McLaren wants to move on to other things, he should tender his resignation in private like a man, not post it on Twitter like he is Milo promoting some new media scheme. High quality people do not want any part of this. It has to stop.

Drama queens are derived from quota queens. Want quality leadership?  Put an end to Der Movement’s ethnic affirmative action program.  Anyone who doesn’t address that elephant in the room is being fundamentally dishonest (and will soon find that room full of elephant dung).

Finally, the leaders of the alt-right need to understand that in an information war, the message has to be effective against the target. When Mike Enoch says, “no one has a right to be around white people,” that is highly effective, because it states a simple truth in a way that gets the target audience to think of themselves as white. It speaks to people at a personal level. The whole point of the alt-right, allegedly, is to get white people to think of themselves as white. Anything that distracts from that must be avoided.

If that is the point of the Alt Right, then I’d advise them to behave in a way that also appeals to people over age 30.

Way back in the olden thymes, Buckley Conservatism got going because it spoke to the masses of people revolted by what they saw going on with the Left. Bill Buckley never would have amounted to anything if there was not a willing audience, waiting for someone to provide intellectual leadership. Whatever that brand of conservatism became in the long run, it started as a group of smart guys, who took their task seriously. Most important, they exploited an eager market looking for an alternative to what was emerging on the Left. 

The alt-right is in a very similar position. There are millions of white people looking around at what is happening in America, wondering why they are doing this to us. Fundamentally, and most importantly, the message of the alt-right is sound. It offers whites a reason to fight for their interests and cheer for their team. What must come next is a class of respectable spokesman and leaders who add weight to this message and organize people as a political force. It’s time for the alt-right leaders to take the next step or step aside.

They need to step aside and take their failed Alt Right brand with them.  These “leaders” and their brand were handed a golden opportunity with Trump, Trump’s election, and its aftermath.  They blew it. Big time.  While I realize that affirmative action and accountability are more or less orthogonal to each other, at some point accountability must be forced onto the quota queens.  They cannot be allowed to endlessly fail with impunity for time without end. Enough is enough.  It’s time for a change.

*Of course, according to the Silkers, I am a philosemitic Jew-lover, a tool of the Jews, someone who – in their own exact words – “sucks Jewish cock.”  That is because I reject their (wet) dream of Asians colonizing Whites nations with the borders of the West guarded by black-booted Chinese girls with guns.  Putting aside that Jews favor Asian immigration to the West, and that Israel is building close ties with both China and India, the demented nature of Silker lunacy should be apparent. To their “minds” anyone (White) who doesn’t pitifully grovel to Asians must, by some law of nature known only to them, pitifully grovel to Jews.  That it is possible to not pitifully grovel to anyone is not part of their ideology, it seems.

There were many former military people who helped plan charlottesville. it amazes me that they did not perceive a trap.

1) They were planning an advance into an enemy stronghold.

2) They knew they would be outnumbered.

3) they were inexperienced.

4) They knew the local authorities were unfriendly

5) They did not properly recon the territory. These people were unaware that the local university has a berkeleyesque reputation.

6) The announced their event well in advance, allowing the enemy time to plan and prepare.

If you advance with inferior strength into unknown territory full of fortified enemies you will LOSE.

This displays the problem the right has with Clausewitizian thinking..trying to force decisive results. This does not work when you are vastly inferior.

The torchlight parade the night before was far more effective, as it was launched before the enemy had time to rally its superior resources. If the event had ended there, it would have been a success.

Those guys with the “Its OK to be white” flyers have achieved far more, at far less cost. This is Maoist thinking, which is appropriate for the vastly inferior side.

Let’s consider ZMan’s take on it.

The organizers who put it together and promoted it have some culpability here. 

Indeed they do.  And what culpability have they accepted?  More to the point, what have they done that shows accountability?  Well, we have Kessler actually having the temerity for Unite the Right II, and being praised for that by Greg Johnson.  

The thing that leaders must always accept is they are responsible for their people. 

Except in Der Movement, where “their people” are “thrown under the bus” whenever it is convenient to do so.

That’s part of leadership. 

Well, when you choose your “leaders” based on an affirmative action program and/or by a system of negative selection – who is it who are so failed and dysfunctional that they would overtly and publicly identify themselves with a failed and dysfunctional “movement” – then you are going to get, believe it or not, even more failure and dysfunction.

When you lead your men into a fight, they expect that you are not leading them into a trap or into certain death. 

Or to an “extreme vetted” meeting in which the main speaker is a leftist infiltrator talking about the dangers of infiltration and who was invited to assist in the vetting for other meetings (an infiltrator deciding on which sincere activist cannot attend) because he passed the extreme vetting hurdle: “Are you Swedish?”

Leadership requires a sense of duty to those you are leading. 

If the “leaders” are so devoid of character that they do not possesses this sense of duty, then they must be held accountable when they fail to fulfill the minimal obligation stated by Zman .  But they are NEVER held accountable by the rank-and-file, are they?  And, if you ever try to hold any of them accountable, then you are “crazy,” don’t you know.  Pure Frankfurt School-level pathologizing of dissent.

The people who put this together failed in that regard and they should be judged accordingly.

They should be permanently banned from any leadership role in Der Movement whatsoever.  Anyone who continues supporting them for such a role should be similarly banned.

That said, most involved were new to activism and can be forgiven for getting caught up in the spirit of the times. 

Hey, Zman, what is “the spirit of the times?”  Acting like immature, irresponsible jackasses?  And how are they going to be held accountable if people like you are going to start making excuses for them immediately after calling for accountability.  Judge them accordingly and then forgive them.  That’s great.  We’ll really get these problems of leadership sorted out now!

Mike Enoch, who has done everything he can to support the men being persecuted, has clearly learned a hard lesson from this. He is a guy who deserves credit for not only learning from the event, but accepting some responsibility for blundering into a trap. 

Credit?  I would give him credit if he had announced: “Look, I’m clearly not suited for any leadership role whatsoever.  So I’m stepping down, permanently, from taking on such roles, and from this point on will solely be a rank-and-file activist and content creator.  I call on all other leaders involved in this fiasco to do the same.”

I don’t remember reading or hearing that.  And, anyway, whatever his ancestry, Enoch is clearly not “one of the boys” so I’m sure the rank-and-file wouldn’t miss him too much anyway.  However, it would shine a light on “the boys” who refuse to do likewise.  Perhaps the rank-and-file at that point would start getting restless even with their chosen ones.

Not everyone involved has covered themselves in glory, though, and that’s a good lesson moving forward. Leadership is not just about being cheeky on YouTube.

Before I get into the point-by-point riposte to Johnson’s last installment about the Alt Right, I have two points to make.

First, this is not an apologia for WN 1.0, which I despise nearly as much as I despise the even more stupid and juvenile WN 2.0. However, I despise dishonesty even more, and blaming 1.0 for the failings of 2.0 is dishonesty of a breathtaking nature.  Further, a “movement” can never correct error if they do not understand the nature of that error or acknowledge its source. The failures of WN 2.0 need to be put squarely on the heads of the Beavis-and-Butthead 2.0 crowd, all of the Captain America “based” cosplay actors out on the streets, and on all of the people who should have known better who enabled Alt Right stupidity because they thought that “the Alt Right brand” would help promote their own websites and agendas (and in his recent Luke Ford podcast, Johnson admits that he and other prominent Der Movement “leaders” did exactly that).  

Second, several facts need to be made clear that clearly exonerates WN 1.0 for the blame for some of the oft-cited foibles of WN 2.0.

Whatever you may think of street fighting – and I think the Right certainly should defend itself and its ability to publicly assemble, albeit it should be done in well-thought-out, mature, and strategic manner, and after the technics and lawfare issues have been appropriately planned for – to claim that the street fighting over the past couple of years is a 1.0 effect is ludicrous.

In reality, the street fighting had its embryogenesis in the scuffles at Trump rallies during the Presidential campaign, and was birthed during the various street battles, marches, and college protests that took place during the first half of 2017. It was PURE 2.0 forces – mostly Trumpist Alt Liters and civic nationalists – who led the way.

Thus, the entire street fighting-cosplay-Captain America scenario did NOT start with WN 1.0, or even with the Alt Right proper.  It started with “Based Stick Man” – a non-WN Alt-Liter who at that time was married to an Asian woman and who has a Hapa son.  WN 1.0?  No way. 2.0?  Yes.

The “Proud Boys” – involved in street-fighting – when they are not being publicly humiliated in LA bars – are what?  A racially diverse bunch of Alt Liters.  ZERO affiliation with WN 1.0.

The main organizer of the ill-fated Unite the Right rally: Millennial Alt Righter and archetypical WN 2.0er Jason Kessler, who Johnson now supports since Kessler and Spencer had a falling out.

Promoters of Holocaust memes: TRS jackassery, including Johnson’s buddy “Enoch,” who was married to a Jewish woman, by the way.  All WN 2.0ers – nary a WN 1.0er to be found.

The narrative that all of these negatives of WN 2.0 were due to WN 1.0 is the most dishonest piece of outrageous gaslighting I’ve ever encountered in all my years in Der Movement. While I don’t directly associate myself with the official Der Movement, Inc., of course I’ve been heavily involved in racial activism since the mid-1990s and therefore, like it or not, I am part of the broader “movement.”  It is what it is.  I’ve seen a lot of stupidity and mendacity, but to blame the opponents of WN 2.0 for the errors of that form of “activism” is outrageous.

Another point – this one aimed at the System/Left.  It are the same people who are now crying about “Far Right violence” when elderly Jews are shot at or leftists have makeshift bombs mailed to them, who are the people who publicly praise Antifa violence and who gleefully replay the gif of Spencer being elbowed in the face. The same folks who write essays on how “it’s OK to punch Nazis” (“Nazi” being anyone to the right of Barack Obama) are the ones decrying “the atmosphere of violence created by Trump.” It’s ludicrous and even more dishonest than Der Movement’s attempts to gaslight us about the reasons for WN 2.0 failure.  Now, back to Johnson.

More dishonesty: Johnson keeps on talking about how the Alt Right was ruined by people wanting to “control the movement” while ignoring the more fundamental problem of the Alt Right wanting to control the entire racial activist “movement.” 

Greg blames the drinking and street fighting on WN 1.0, which the TRUTH is that the WN 1.0 denounced all of that, while the Pepe-Kek cosplay WN 2.0 crowd was solidly behind it.  The entire Alt Right “realm of ideas” was Pepe, Kek, Beavis-and-Butthead sniggering, drinking, juvenile jackassery – and while Alt Right apologists were praising the “youth culture” “old school” WN 1.0 folks were denouncing all of that.  And here comes Johnson, blaming the faults of WN 2.0 on the WN 1.0 that was actually denouncing it.  Outrageous dishonesty.  And who was saying “the Alt Right is White nationalism or nothing at all?’’  Amazing.  “Bad faith?”

In 2015, when the new Alt Right became more comfortable with the idea of White Nationalism, most of its members had only the vaguest acquaintance with an earlier generation of White Nationalist figures. Lawrence Murray, for instance, claimed, “I myself had never heard of [William] Pierce and [David] Duke . . . until becoming involved with the Alt-Right.”[1] Murray’s experience is typical of Millennial and Gen Z Alt Rightists.

Dear God.  How can someone be involved in pro-White, Far Right politics and “never heard of [William] Pierce and [David] Duke?”  This is indicative of the narrow-minded, navel-gazing Millennial mindset: the world didn’t exist before they came of age, don’t you know.  I have heard Millennials talking about the 1950s and 1960s, thinking that people back then had the Internet and smart phones. This is the same attitude as to why young people stopped in the street for questioning about history think WWII was in the 1850s and that the US Civil War was in the 1960s and featured a battle between New York City and Los Angeles.  Ignorant, arrogant, and uninformed.  The raw material for the Alt Right!  WN 2.0 at its finest!

The Alt Right began calling the White Nationalism of their fathers’ generation “White Nationalism 1.0.” The dubbed the Alt Right “White Nationalism 2.0.” Built into this framework was a dismissive attitude toward White Nationalism 1.0 and an assumption that the Alt Right was a marked improvement. I agreed with the latter judgment. 

Indicative of Johnson’s horrifically bad judgment.

But more often than not, Alt Rightists dismissed figures like Pierce and Duke based simply on impressions gleaned from the mainstream media. I thought it was shameful to parrot enemy propaganda. Thus when such attitudes appeared in various private forums, I urged Alt Rightists to become better informed and learn what they could from White Nationalism 1.0. As a movement, it was largely a failure, but learning from failure is part of success. Unfortunately, some people learned the wrong lessons.

Indeed.

By the beginning of 2017, I began to notice a definite shift toward 1.0 ideas and attitudes:

The assumption that German National Socialism is the only authentic form of White Nationalism

Names please.  Who advocated that?

Advocating the mass extermination of non-whites, race-mixers, and homosexuals, straight from the pages of The Turner Diaries

Who?

A marked upsurge attitudes toward women that can legitimately be labeled misogyny, including the toxic “white sharia” meme and a push to bully female voices into silence

And yet Johnson previously declared the likes of Nazi/Sharia Anglin as the new voice of WN 3.0.  The inconsistency here is absolutely remarkable.  Does anyone who is sane question why I consider Der Movement to be a bad joke?

Gaslighting Greg at it again.  See what I wrote at the beginning of the post. The FACTS support that the cosplay brawling was PURELY from the WN 2.0/Alt Lite/Big Tent folks, NOT from WN 1.0.

The entirely negative consequences of these attitudes and behaviors were easy to predict.

Yeah, it was all so easy to predict that only Sallis predicted, and hoped for, the demise of the Alt Right at the same time that Johnson, Taylor, MacDonald et al. were eagerly jumping on the Alt Right bandwagon.

But they were nevertheless tolerated, given platforms, and even advocated and encouraged by leading Alt-Right voices.

First and foremost, WN 1.0 ideas are self-marginalizing and self-defeating.

Ideas like Kali Yuga, Men Who Can’t Tell Time, Counter-Currents articles lionizing Hitler…

The best possible way to advocate White Nationalism is to emphasize that it is a political philosophy based in human nature, confirmed by social science and political experience, and rooted in the political traditions of all white nations. The worst possible way to advocate White Nationalism is to claim that every form of ethnonationalism is fake—except the German form that was defeated in 1945 and has been execrated continuously since then.

Likewise, many of the woman haters don’t understand that another fundamental aim of our movement is to drain the cultural swamp that breeds distrust and hatred between the sexes, rather than just to provide a platform for misogynists to vomit bile into the void. Indeed, the more the movement is simply a safe space for damaged people to vent, the less likely it is to actually create a society with healthy families and sexual norms.

And James O’Meara and company will lead the way to “create a society with healthy families and sexual norms.”  Let’s not forget Anglin and the other heroes of WN2.0/3.0, including “I’ll divorce my Jewish wife” Enoch.

Politics is not therapy. The more our movement resembles a group therapy session—with the lunatics running the asylum—the less likely it is to achieve its political goals.

The idea of “white sharia” took wholesome and salutary truths about the differences between the sexes and their appropriate roles in the family and society at large and self-defeatingly packaged them in terms that bring to mind child brides, arranged marriages, rape gangs, sex slavery, polygamy, clitoridectomies, acid attacks, purdah, and dressing in dropcloths.

And yet Johnson publicly identified Anglin as one of the harbingers of WN 3.0. Thus, Johnson is a proponent of the very things he rails against.

Again: the White Nationalist movement has a better chance of winning if more people fight for us and fewer people fight against us. Thus it is self-defeating for a movement that is already small and marginal to launch bullying campaigns against entire classes of white people who want to help—including the more than 50% of the white race that happens to be female.

Oh, yes, women want to help so much.  Go to any pro-White meeting and be overwhelmed by the female contingent.  Also note how Johnson’s “let’s not alienate White people who want to help” applies to females, but mysteriously not to White ethnics, who have been vilified by Der Movement for a whole lot longer than the “sharia” memes have been around.  But, we can’t threaten the affirmative action program, can we?  A bunch of giggling female podcasters pose no threat to the monopoly, but competent male competitors…that’s a different story,

As I argue in my essays “Redefining the Mainstream” and “Against Right-Wing Sectarianism,” White Nationalism will win when it becomes the common sense of the whole cultural and political mainstream. There is nothing inherently Right-wing about the essential ideas of White Nationalism: for instance, that being white is a necessary condition of European identity; that the white race is being subjected to slow genocide due to policies that promote low white fertility and non-white immigration; that creating sovereign white homelands with pro-natal, pro-family values…

Certainly, Counter-Currents has always been a fount of “pro-natal, pro-family” values.

…is the solution to white genocide; and that Jews have played a leading role in promoting white genocide and blocking whites from stopping it. 

Tell that to Zman.

But we know that victory is possible, because it was not too long ago that pro-white ideas were culturally and politically dominant. 

And so weak and superficial that they melted away when exposed to fast-talking Jews, leading us to our present dilemma.

We need to take a nuanced stance on drinking, drugs, and other unhealthy habits. 

What other “unhealthy habits?”

Thus young audiences find it real and relatable to watch Millennial Woes chain-smoking his way through his YouTube videos, or to listen to the countless podcasts whose hosts and guests are obviously drunk or stoned.

And these are WN 2.0, NOT WN 1.0. My point proven. 

Imagine, for a moment, that the movement adopted Harold Covington’s General Order Number 10: for the duration of the struggle, no White Nationalist will use alcohol and drugs.[3] We would gain much and lose nothing. First, drugs and alcohol impair judgment and effectiveness, leading to bad decisions and clumsy execution with predictably self-defeating consequences.

That’s the answer!  All that mead let to the initial Hermansson infiltration.

We also need to take a nuanced stance on the return of costumed protests and brawls with Communists. The Old Right began by battling Communists in the streets of Europe. For a while after Trump’s election, it looked like those days were back as masked Communists (“antifa”) attacked Trump supporters in the streets. Naturally, Trump supporters, including White Nationalists, wanted to fight back. It was only natural to test the waters and see what was possible. At a certain point, however, caution and prudence were tossed to the winds. People got giddy and grandiose. The result was the catastrophic Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, the costs and consequences of which are still mounting to this day.

All WN 2.0 enterprises.

The enemy’s chief weaknesses are promoting morally heinous and socially destructive policies based on lies, as well as being corrupt, decadent, vicious, and silly.

Sounds a lot like the weaknesses of Der Movement as well.

Is the story of the Alt Right over, or will there be a next chapter? At this point, we shouldn’t really care. Even if the Alt Right is dead, White Nationalism and white identity politics are very much alive, and it is the issues not the symbols that really matter. The Alt Right was just a brand. It was a useful umbrella term that created a discursive space in which White Nationalists could network with and convert people who are closer to the mainstream. But Richard Spencer…

Of course.

…collapsed that discursive space with Hailgate. The much-reduced Alt Right movement that Spencer created under his leadership met its Waterloo at Charlottesville. At this point, the Alt Right movement is dead, and the brand has been irreparably tarnished. 

And the people who predicted it should be listened to today, and the conformists who jumped on the bandwagon should be ignored.

Also this.

This distinction is crucial because white nationalism thus becomes a logical extension of patriotism: “We have to assert that being white is a necessary condition of belonging to any European national group, although of course we acknowledge that a shared language, culture, and history are also necessary.” White nationalists are the true defenders of existing nation-states.

Why such nation-states and not regions such as Bavaria, Flanders, Padania, etc.?

Dr. Johnson also answers the question of whether “a worldwide European diaspora of a hundred flags, in which every self-conscious nation has at least one sovereign homeland” would lead to conflict and war as it has in the past. He argues that ethnostates would be “good neighbors to one another” because each would have a secure identity and sense of place that would encourage positive relations between peoples. Distinct homelands based on common peoplehood would encourage respect for the peoplehood of others and foster international trust. And even with distinct homelands, pan-European high culture and cooperation in matters of technology would help unify the white world.

And he has advocated European ethnies warring against each other and ethnically cleaning each other.

Despite his attachment to ethnonationalism, Dr. Johnson seems to suggest that today, racial solidarity is more important than national solidarity. Echoing Sam Francis, Dr. Johnson argues that whites are attacked as whites, not as Germans or Frenchmen or Americans. Thus, “[W]hen Europeans resist ethnic displacement, they will increasingly regard their race as their nation and their skin as their uniform.” One could even argue that at the current stage of our efforts, there is already a new “nation” of racially aware Europeans who have more in common with each other than their fellow citizens.

This supports my contention that Johnson’s hard turn to ethnonationalism was simply out of spite against Spencer and had no deep ideological foundation.

He criticizes those who “lack a worldview of their own” and instead “go shopping for a complete and ready-made system of ideas that they can adopt as a package deal.”

Der Movement in a nutshell.  Emphasis on “nut.”

But isn’t “white nationalism” itself “toxic” and “highly stigmatized?” Dr. Johnson argues that “implicit White Nationalism is the animating principle of the growing populist-nationalist movements across the white world” and believes “we will inevitably move from implicit to explicit racial advocacy.” What now prevents this transition is a hostile establishment “already working feverishly, at nearly 100% capacity, to suppress white identity politics.” However, “when our rising consciousness exceeds their declining ability to control us, then we win.”

Implicit racial nationalism, not ethnonationalism.

But when will that time come? White advocates have been driven from social media, selectively prosecuted by a “conservative” administration, and cut off from means of fundraising. White advocates have less freedom to speak without fear of reprisal than before President Trump’s election. The White Nationalist Manifesto provides little guidance about how to reverse this process. The rise of overt anti-white hatred has also become mainstream since President Trump’s election.

As Dr. Johnson notes, we probably can’t change the minds of those who think the white race should die. We can appeal to those who value white civilization but shy away from doing what is necessary to preserve it. This is the perfect book for the conservative teetering on the edge of racial awareness.

After all, we need more conservatives.  Aggressive fighters all!  Revolutionaries looking to the future!

How about this: how about the USA withdraws from all “treaties” that obligates this country accepting “refugees?”  The “refugee” scam is just a cover for invasion.  Too bad these treaties didn’t exist 80 years ago – the Germans could have conquered Europe by claiming the Wehrmacht was just a “refugee caravan.”  Come now – they just wanted to escape the big bad Hitler, who can blame them?  Instead, Trump will probably meekly process their "refugee" applications, give them room and board, and have his DOJ indict more Nutzis for "hate crimes."

Come on, now, Greg, all this scifi stuff is just nonsense!  With “Peak Oil” how are we going to power our starships?  Let’s just stay snug in our hobbit holes, enjoying the “de facto anarchy in the provinces.”  But, hey, maybe like the Middle East, there’s oil in dem dere hills (of sand) on Arrakis, not just “spice,” so we can drive our space ship up to the nearest gas station and fill ‘er up!

More lack of self-awareness:

First, Johnson denies his site constantly attacks Spencer:

I don’t know what you mean by “a lot.” Besides this three parter and my review of Vegas Tenold’s book, I can’t think of any others.

Conveniently forgetting not only the major opinion pieces, but the constant sniping – by him and others - against Spencer in the comments threads of other articles.  I’ve been commenting on such comments regularly on this blog.  And let’s not forget this.

Second, this:

Yes, they’ve already forgotten about Hermansson, Lewis, etc.

It would be best if Greg would forget about Spencer and just build his own Counter-Currents brand.  There’s a certain ugliness in kicking someone when they’re down – and Spencer is currently way down, both in his activist and personal lives. I’m sure Greg feels justified in his bitterness toward Spencer and Friberg - and perhaps he’s right to feel so (but I wonder if he has enough self-awareness to understand that others may feel the same way about him), but a bigger man would just let it go.  Another argument I suppose would be to counter “movement” amnesia by constantly reminding everyone of Spencer’s foibles, so as to attempt to prevent a Spencerian comeback.  That attitude would be more principled if it was aimed at the entire Alt Right brand, rather than just personally on a down-and-out would-be Fuhrer; then again, all the criticism would have even more “bite” if it had started when the Alt Right was riding high.  But only Sallis and Strom had the prescience to issue warnings back then.

Spencer is just a symptom, Der Movement is the disease, and the Alt Right is the most recent pernicious manifestation of that disease.  Spencer can permanently disappear from the “movement” scene, and all these problems would still be here.  EGI Notes tells you that, while Johnson fulminates against someone whose current status is equivalent to that of Hitler’s last days in the bunker.

Johnson also answers a lukewarm defender of Spencer who suggested that Richie Rich would have done better with a handler behind the scenes – to which Johnson, justifiably, answers that if someone needs a handler they are a figurehead and not a leader.  But that’s the point – Spencer would have been better suited as a player in electoral politics – yes, a figurehead – with the CMS guys being the handlers behind the scenes.  Regnery’s initial instincts were sound – Spencer should never have compromised his future political viability by taking over NPI and being directly involved in Der Movement to such an obvious extent.

The Alt Wrong expresses itself:

Jared Taylor: If Europeans are to be replaced, I would far prefer that we be replaced by Asians than by Africans or Middle-Easterners and, certainly, by Muslims. I hope, of course, that Western civilization will survive, that white people will carry their civilization and their biological substrate forever into the future. I hope that’s what happens. But, if we are—if we really are—to be bred out of existence, or if we do not reproduce ourselves, if the continent of Europe becomes non-white, if North America becomes increasingly non-white, I would prefer they became Asian rather than African, Middle Eastern, or Latino. Asians are a high IQ group, and they would organize superior societies, whereas if the United States became populated by people like Guatemalans, Haitians, Syrians, then the United States would become a Third World mess.

That is of course not the classical HBD view, which instead actively does hope and prefer for Whites to be replaced by Asians as the optimal scenario.  

Anyway, I disagree with Taylor.  Why should Asians, or anyone else, inherit the Earth, and the achievements and inventions of Whites, if Whites become extinct?  On the contrary, let the world burn; if Whites are not around to fulfill their destiny, let the remaining featherless bipeds go rot.  Who cares about a “superior society” run by Orientals?

I guess that’s my moralpathy talking. Speaking of which – how many Nutzis have coined their own psychological term?  Ted Sallis – the gift that keeps on giving (Narcissism!  Narcissism!)!

A tale of two idiots.  

First Jeff.

Sallis right again: some more folks at VDARE waking up to the monstrosity that is “America’s Senator” Antifa Jeff Sessions.  Some excerpts, emphasis added.

The survival of the historic American nation depends on addressing immigration. But according to Derbyshire and Coulter, Sessions is not only the man for the job, but the only man for the job. This is the crux of the issue. In my opinion, Sessions is neither the one man for the job, nor is he doing as good a job as they think. 

Then there are the other issues where Sessions has failed. The most obvious: the Mueller witch hunt aimed at removing Trump himself from office. Sessions gave us this issue, and it is a knife aimed at the heart of immigration law enforcement. No Trump and we are back to the Obama Regime Administrative Amnesty, or worse. 

Nothing Sessions could do at the Department of Justice could make up for losing President Trump or having his administration crippled by a Democrat Congress. And that is what the Mueller Jihad might give us. 

Sessions’ decision to recuse himself is his original sin. Such original sin requires a human sacrifice for expiation. And the only sacrifice is Sessions’ doing the honorable thing, like a noble Roman, and falling on his sword. 

Furthermore, Sessions is not irreplaceable. Offhand, Tom Cotton and Kris Kobach come to mind as skilled attorneys with impeccable immigration credentials. I am certain Cotton is confirmable, and is as hard line on immigration as Sessions, but made of sterner stuff.

And Sessions has not, I would argue, been that good on immigration…Additionally, Sessions has been a complete failure on newly-emerged issues—the Deep State and domestic terrorism being at the fore.

It makes one think that Sleepy Jeff is not sleepy, but actively sabotaging the Trump Administration. 

I don’t call this failure as being strong on the immigration issue. 

Given the emerge of a Totalitarian Left in America, domestic terrorism increasingly matters to legacy Americans. Here there have been two failures:

First, there has been no action on Civil Rights violations directed against white Americans. Thus in the Chicago Facebook Live-stream beating of a mentally disabled white man by four Blacks, the Sessions DOJ has done nothing.

Second, someone in DOJ is protecting the Communist terrorist group, Antifa, from Federal prosecution. 

Antifa operates openly, announcing their intentions in advance and attacking anyone they dislike. A few AntiFa might be arrested by local police, but most charges are quickly dropped. 

However, as I argued more than a year ago, the Federal government can easily charge those identified by local arrests with Civil Rights violations. Such cases are open and shut. For example, an Antifa terrorist, Eric Clanton, recently pled guilty after attacking seven pro-Trump Americans with a bike lock during a free speech demonstration in Berkeley that was attacked by Antifa.  

The locals allowed him to plead to a single misdemeanor with no prison time. A slap on the wrist. But why hasn’t Sessions instructed Alex Tse to charge Eric Clanton with Federal Civil Rights violations? 

Consequently, Antifa has increased their terrorism under Sessions. They feel they can safely ignore the DOJ that he controls. So confident are Antifa terrorists that that their Deep State Democrat allies control the DOJ that they are burning Federal subpoenas, taunting Sleepy Jeff to act.

Of course, the “crazy and bitter” Sallis has been criticizing Sessions in this manner for months, two examples (of many) are below.

Sessions is in fact, by both commission (the Fields indictment) and omission (failure to take action as described in the VDARE piece) acting as if he’s the legal counsel for Antifa.  Sessions is an Antifa supporter – he’s also the scum who collaborated with the SPLC in Alabama to prosecute Klansmen, and he’s also the trash whose DOJ is looking into the “Till murder” while at the same time his own supporters get attacked in the streets of America by the same Antifa thugs he celebrates and protects.

Is Sessions the worst person on Earth?  Possibly yes. But, hey, don’t forget, Quota Queen Derbyshire and Quota King Coulter both support their fellow affirmative action specimen Sessions.  Quotas Gonna Quota!
