Unz of course does more than just promote anti-WN, pro-HBD. Nordicism, and shilling for China (including Chinese government propaganda about The China Plague being an “American bioweapon”). The site is replete with anti-scientific nonsense (as linked to above), and, of course, continuous anti-vaxx hysteria now aimed against the covid-19 vaccination (Question for the curious: What is the vaccination status of Ron Unz?  Has he been vaccinated?  Or does he plan to be vaccinated in the future?).

Conspiracy theories are all around at that site (including the infamous “moon landing hoax” nonsense – one of the greatest achievements of the White man isdelegitimized; after all, we can’t let the goys think they’re smart enough to land a man on the moon, now, can we?).

Actually, conspiracy theories – including anti-Semitic conspiracy theories – serve Jewish purposes. After all, the goyim can’t be allowed to be thinking rationally now, can they?  Better to keep the Gentiles foaming at the mouth with all sorts of irrational nonsense, distracted by fantasies and ignoring hard truths. Let the goys believe that the vaccine is a “kill concoction” and the unvaccinated are "the select" “salt of the Earth” – Jews, like in Israel, will continue to get vaccinated and protected.  Funny though, how the God Emperor Trump was vaccinated and so was Putin. I suppose that was all part of the conspiracy as well – placebos to trick the masses!

And we can see once again why Joyce is right and Cofnas is wrong – even when Jews are involved on the Right, they are always, always, ALWAYS promoting poisonous memes and disruptive ideas. Crazed mestizo Nordicist Chechar, excited by McCulloch’s mild criticism of Johnson’s multiracialism, explains his own problems with Johnson:

Putting aside that Counter-Currents has often dabbled in Nordicism, let us understand what Chechar is saying here. First, he tacitly endorses Nordicism, as he critiques Johnson with the (false) accusation that Johnson "abhors" that philosophy.  Depending how you interpret the wording, he may also be admitting that Pierce was a Nordicist – exactly what I have been saying for years. Thus, Pierce was dishonestly fooling all of the stepandfetchit non-Nordic shabbos sud and shabbost ost National Alliance members, who were hoodwinked into being extended phenotypes for specifically Nordic interests. Even if Chechar didn't mean to imply that in the statement above, it is still all too true.

That Pierce had an “exterminationist philosophy” is not really up for debate.

The key point here as well is that by criticizing Johnson in this regard, Chechar is essentially endorsing Pierce’s philosophy of (Nordicist) exterminationism.  Given that Chehar is a non-White, non-Nordic Hispanic, he is, basically, supporting and endorsing his own extermination and the extermination of his own family.

And Der Movement calls me “insane!” I support Universal Nationalism but I am “insane,” while folks who essentially support an "exterminationism" that may include themselves are the paragons of sane mental health!  And if I ridicule Der Movement for its raving lunacy, then I am the one who is a “paranoid piece of crap.”

To paraphrase an old saying – “in a mad movement, it are the sane who are labelled as insane.”

Race and “movement” news.

I have problems with how Greg Johnson answers the question: “Which ethnic groups are white enough to be included in white nationalism? – in his latest podcast.

First, if the only thing Greg cares about is that every ethnic group has its own homeland, then he should call himself a Universal ethnonationalist and not a White nationalist.  If it doesn’t make any difference if we talk about Greeks or Turks, Russians or Georgians – or, presumably, Danes or Nigerians – then why use the adjective “White” to describe the type of nationalist you are? Or do you actually have an identity affiliation with some groups more than others? If so, who are those groups, and why do they fit and others do not?

Second, when people ask questions like this, what they are really asking, in essence, is – Who is White enough to live in a White American ethnostate?  Who is White enough to be considered a “fellow White” by WNs?  Who is White enough to be welcomed as a “brother” (or “sister”) at your racialist conferences and forums?  That fits in with the previous question about Nordicism discussed in the podcast, and it should have been answered in a more thoughtful and comprehensive manner.  Yes, indeed, “White enough for what?” – that’s the entire point.  And the question of a Greek being a (White) American is also exactly the point; no one on the Far Right is arguing about Greeks in Greece. Yes, the Greeks are Greek enough to be in Greece; I doubt that’s what the question was addressing.  We all know what the issue is.  It is, e.g. – are Greeks White enough to be considered part of the family of White peoples? Superficial answers to questions do not constitute serious metapolitics.  If you declare yourself a “leader" and ask for $100,000 per year in “D’Nations” then you have an obligation to do better.

Third, I strongly object to the idea that an Imperium has to lead to a significant “blending” of peoples, with intra-European migration, assimilation, and mixing. This issue has been discussed by my work many times, and the fact that this comes up again clearly demonstrates the danger of activists who refuse to engage with opposing ideas, and who believe that “banning” people from their blogs obviates the need for critical thinking.

As far as Johnson’s claim (in the previous section of the podcast, concerning the topic) that he takes a strong stand against extreme Nordicism; I don’t know what comments he has been deleting, but four words suffice here:  Ash Donaldson, Andrew Hamilton.

But at least the Counter-Currents crew have the honesty to admit that Nordicism is still very much alive and well in the (American) "movement." That contrasts to the following commentator:

The only excuse this fool has is that many Nordicists today avoid using that term to describe themselves; even years ago, Kemp (of all people!), in response to some of my own writing, denied being a Nordicist, despite the fact that he was (and still is, for those who still remember him) widely considered one of the "movement's" leading Nordicists, with his "work" enthusiastically promoted by most Nordicists (some of whom became so breathless over it that one suspects it was onanism material for them).  That some may deny a label does not mean it is not true.  After all, we may assume Trump would deny being a retarded buffoon, but does that denial hold any water?

Tolkien deeply distrusted modernization and industrialization, which replace organic reciprocity between man and nature with technological dominion of man over nature, a relationship that deforms and devalues both poles.

But philosophically and politically, Tolkien was much closer to the New Right than the New Left. Tolkien was a conservative and a race realist.

By this point I really do believe the Tolkien fetish has an ethnoracial biological dimension.  Traditionalism likely does as well in a related sense – Evola being an extreme outlier.  Or maybe it’s just me?  I don’t know.  This is a topic for further study.  Are there significant intra-European ethnic differences in the appeal of Tolkienite Traditionalism?  Are there different preferences for the snug hobbit hole vs. the spaceship?  And what does this tell us about Spengler and his pontifications about the Faustian Will-to-Power?  Tolkienism seems to be me as anti-Faustian as you can get - de facto anarchy in your hobbit hole.

Will Williams took over as NA’s third chairman in October 2014. He knew the organization was in financial and organizational disarray and hired accountant Randolph Dilloway to help restore the organization. {snip}

According to the lawsuit, Williams went to confront Dilloway for his shoddy work on May 3, 2015. Both men called the police, and Dilloway fled with a laptop and thumb drives with allegedly stolen documents. On May 20, the SPLC published an article called “Chaos at the Compound,” revealing documents Beirich admitted to receiving from Dilloway on May 6, three days after the confrontation.

I have a mixed opinion on all of this.

One the one hand, Spencer is a terrible spokesman for the Imperium idea, which is not at all incompatible with Salter’s Universal Nationalism or local sovereignty.  Pitching the Imperium idea with the aura of a James Bond villain, with lots of warmed-over Social Darwinism, does not impress. Spencer needs to read On Genetic Interests.  Universal Nationalism does not imply a lack of competition between nations and peoples; it does mean that every people should be allowed genetic continuity and at least some minimal means of existence.  And one must remember that in a world full of high-tech weaponry, including weapons of mass destruction, net EGI would suggest the wisdom of a degree of restraint in great power competition.

Universal Nationalism does not reject large-scale federated EU-like structures – see the discussion centered on Fig. 7.1 in Salter’s  book. However, at other times, “smaller is better” seems to be promoted for maximization of genetic interests.  Splitting the difference would lead to a scenario such as that suggested by a number of pan-European theorists (including myself) in which the federated structure is balanced against a degree of local sovereignty.  These are issues for careful discussion, not bombastic statements and posturing.

On the other hand, Vox Day is even worse.  Our interests are not served by following the ideas of a racially-mixed anti-WN Christian conservative and his bible-thumping followers. Is that ad hominem?  Yes, it is, but their attacks on Spencer are nothing but ad hominem as well.  At least I offer some actual criticism of Spencer’s thoughts and suggest he consult with some of Salter’s ideas (and my own) to broaden his worldview.  His Voxian critics descend to name-calling and the typical “CIA asset” accusations.  In the absence of a real argument, the same tactics can be turned against them. One cannot expect a person who identifies as racially mixed to understand, and promote, the best interests of Whites as a race, and Christian fanatics have long made clear that their priority is religion, not race and civilization.  Thus, Spencer is a misguided potential ally, and these others are opponents.

Spencer needs to seriously engage with Salter's ideas.

Defending Universal Nationalism

"The universal nationalist believes that one can make a case for White Nationalism that would be compelling enough, “reasonable” enough, “fair” enough to garner support from each of these biologically distinct groups.”

This is absolute, unfettered nonsense.  Universal nationalism is meant as a meme for Whites, not an attempt to plead with others for our right to exist. That many - most? - Whites are so Universalist in their natural mindset that they require universalism to intrude into nationalism is a fact that needs to be dealt with.  Blame all those "high trust hunter gatherers" that the HBD faction is so fond of babbling about.  But don't blame those who understand that the rhetoric of universal nationalism has an appeal to the innate fair mindedness of White folks.

Universal nationalism is fully compatible with "doing what it takes" to secure racial survival.  There is nothing in Salter's book that suggests we need to care what happens to Burma or invest any energy in fighting their battles. Salterism says we need to invest in OURSELVES, while, at the same time, granting the Burmese the same right to do so. We are under no obligation to help them.  Of course, "universal nationalism" would tell us that attempts to genocide the Burmese, to colonize them, etc. is morally wrong, so, yes, On Genetic Interests is not compatible with The Turner Diaries - but I thought that the "American New Right" eschewed Pierce's genocidal fantasies, even independent of Salter?

If the author of this piece (did he actually read Salter's book?) is so exercised over WNs wasting their time worrying about others, then go over to the Alt Right and chastise them about their obsession with Assad of Syria.  I for one - a "universal nationalist" - really could care less about Syrians - apart from that they do not belong in White nations and that the West should not interfere with whatever civil war goes on there.  They can all kill each other off, for all I care. That's my version of "universal nationalism."

I can’t speak for Salter, but he has every right to be annoyed at the typically doltish reception his work has received from the imbecilic “movement.”  Also interesting is that when self-styled “racial preservationists” make (in my opinion transparently disingenuous) appeals for a Universalist approach for “preserving all peoples’ no one bats an eye or utters a word of criticism. Let an academic write a book on genetic interests in which “universal nationalism” is suggested as a broad operating principle, and then it is all some sort of big problem.  In reality, “universal nationalism” is merely giving others the opportunity to defend their interests, whether they successfully do so or not is their problem.  Now, if helping others can be done without harming your own interests, fine, we can all afford to be generous, but there is no obligation to help others at your own expense.

Political EGI VI: Know Your Audience

Calibrate your arguments.

With respect to introducing EGI to political discourse, I am sure the attitude will be: “most people will not be convinced by rational, scientific arguments; instead they will be influenced by emotional arguments instead.  No one will care about EGI.”

This is truth to that – but I also do not believe that ”most people” are going to be influenced by cartoon frogs or screams of “Hail Kek!”- but I’ve never said that “most people” should be addressed by discussions of gene frequencies or of “Hamilton’s Rule.”

Obviously, if you are addressing who Pierce would call “Joe and Jill Sixpack” then you are not going to be invoking “genetic kinship” and explaining the fine points of On Genetic Interests.  You could, however, invoke the language of family and tribe, stoke the “us vs. them” divide and equate face and family to stimulate protective instincts for the group against those threatening it.  

As one moves up the intellectual hierarchy then one can be more explicit about EGI, although the “full story” is likely going to make complete sense only to scientifically literate and sane individuals with triple-digit IQs (leaving most of the “movement” out of the running).  Along the continuum of human understanding, knowledge, and intelligence one must calibrate the rhetoric and arguments for optimal receptivity.

So, no, I’m not arguing that one should go to a local town hall with charts of Fst values or what have you, but the fundamental principles can be put forth in language understandable to the target audience, even if one must use analogies and rhetorical proxies for some major points.  In past “Political EGI” posts I gave some examples of calibrated arguments: I’m no politician or speechwriter, and I’m sure those that are can do an even better job of formulating EGI-based arguments that can resonate to even Mr. and Mrs. Sixpack.

One can also argue – and it’s likely correct – that the less intellectual Whites, the Sixpacks, are more inherently tribal and will require less prompting to unleash their instincts in that regard.  They just need guidance so as to direct that unleashing in the proper political direction (not to GOP cucks or Trumpain frauds, for example) and they need to be inoculated against “we are all the same” leftist rhetoric that, while they may not believe it “in their bones,” may still confuse them.

On the other hand, it are the more intellectually advanced “professionals” among Whites who lead rarefied lives apart from tribal instincts so it are precisely they – the ones best as understanding EGI concepts – would be benefit from more explicit, albeit still carefully calibrated, appeals to more rationalized EGI arguments.

So in that sense it works out well: those Whites least capable of understanding the more explicit EGI arguments are in the least need of them and those Whites most capable of understanding have the most need.

At this point someone will say I’ve missed the original point, which was one of emotion trumping logic, not one of understanding or not.  That’s true, but consider that the “lower class” Whites tend to be more emotional/irrational and the “upper class” Whites are relatively more rational, and hence rationality and understanding go hand-in-hand.  In addition, remember I’m still advocating calibration even for the upper classes; likely pure EGI is suitable for the highest intellectual groups, academics, top intellectual activists, etc. Some “irrational” arguments may need to be made to the rank-and-file upper class, but these would need to be calibrated differently than those used for the Sixpacks.  Perhaps less raw tribalism and more Universal Nationalism? This post is not the place to evaluate this at that level of detail, but to point out that those with rhetorical skills can make EGI-style arguments palatable to specific target audiences.  It’s more a matter of will – wanting to do it – rather than the rhetorical technics.

Contrasting Ethnocentrisms

One can say that the type of Middle Eastern ethnocentrism noted by many observers as characteristic of that region is formally analogous to the idea of a White ethnostate and the pursuit by Whites of their (very) legitimate racial interests.

But there is a fundamental difference.  Salter has proposed, and I endorse, the idea of Universal Nationalism – that every people have the right to preserve their own uniqueness, both biological and cultural, and this applies to non-Whites as well as Whites.  That’s an enlightened ethnocentrism.

However, on the other hand, Middle Eastern ethnocentrism is characterized by an aggressive dual morality and an expansionist, imperialist mindset.  Thus, one Middle Eastern people strive to be at the top of the human energy pyramid, both parasites and manipulators, those who oppose all nationalism except their own, and those who promote multiracialism and multiculturalism to destroy the West and the White race. Another group of Middle Easterners – and other non-Whites who follow a Middle Eastern High Culture - wish to colonize the West through their mass migration and impose their own civilization on Westerners, both a demographic and a cultural form of colonizing imperialism.  Thus, in contrast to Europeans, the well-known ethnocentrism of the Middle Eastern High Culture is aggressively particularistic and definitely not universal.  Universalism it seems is a trait of the West and of the West only.

Let’s follow up a bit on this previous discussion.

Nationalist politicians of the so-called “Far Right” have consistently failed to incorporate forthright discussion of ultimate interests in their rhetoric, and I suspect that almost all of them never heard of ethnic genetic interests and have zero awareness of, much less understating of, Salter’s On Genetic Interests book. As we are getting close to the 15 year mark since the original publication of that work, this ignorance, and lack of utility, has no excuse, and underscores the intellectual vacuity of much of the Far Right.

Excuses about “hate speech laws” (for those nations where such exist) fail for two reasons: first, it should be possible to formulate EGI memes using language moderate enough to evade such laws (in many, albeit likely not all, cases), and, second, the right for free speech, the battle against such laws, should be a foundational plank in any Far Right political platform, but for the most part, nationalist politicians and activists do not take the issue, so they can hardly be justified in using in for an excuse for their failures.

Indeed, I would say this: any White nationalist politician that neglects the free speech issue is simply not serious.  In places like Europe, with “hate speech laws,” nationalist politicians worth anything will make free speech, and the repudiation of speech restrictions, a core fundamental plank of their worldview and their campaign; in America, the focus should be on (1) preventing any such laws here; and (2) fighting against de facto speech restrictions such as political correctness, private policing of speech, and leftist thuggery.  That’s all essential and one good test of the legitimacy of any nationalist political campaign: anyone who neglects these issues is not serious about significant change and lacks understanding of basic sociopolitical dynamics (it’s real hard to battle issues that are illegal to criticize, for example)

Getting back to EGI itself: the Far Right simply hasn’t made the slightest attempt to use EGI/Universal Nationalism and similar concepts as the foundational basis of nationalist politics.

True enough Le Pen and her supporters did skirt the issue with talk of “replacement.”  That’s a start, no doubt.  However, a few phrases uttered in the heat of a political campaign, designed to (cynically?) appeal to a base of supporters, is hardly any sort of fundamental statement of principle.

In the Netherlands and Austria there has been similar “dog whistling” regarding race and ethnicity, but the language can always be interpreted more in cultural/civilizational terms. Certainly there hasn’t been any talk that even remotely touches on the EGI argument.

Hungary’s Orban?

“Preserving ethnic homogeneity” is important to Hungary’s economy, according to the prime minister, who said “life has proven that too much mixing causes trouble”.

He insisted the government “cannot risk changing the fundamental ethnic character of the country.

“That would not enhance the value of the country but downgrade it instead, and toss it into chaos.”

That’s good as far as it goes, but doesn’t go far enough.  “Hungary’s economy?”  Well, yes, I’m sure that importing Third Worlders and other aliens into Hungary isn’t going to help their “economy,” but that’s hardly the core of the problem.  Ultimately, from the standpoint of political EGI, Orban fails.

Hanson in Australia is similar to Western Europe with the “swamping” “dog whistling” that can be ascribed to culture but resonates ethnically with at least some supporters.

Brexit in the UK was also completely devoid of any direct racial basis. Alternative for Germany also does the same moderating “dog whistling.”  I guess something is better than nothing, but it’s not a huge degree better than nothing.

Moving in the more Far Right direction, I’m sure groups like Golden Dawn and other more “extreme” organizations take a more direct racial view, but insofar as I know they lack the solid empirical foundation given by an understanding of EGI.

But, look, even allegedly openly racialist groups and blogs in America and the rest of the Anglosphere do not understand EGI.  Even those blogs that pontificate about “European EGI” promote policies that would directly and irreparably harm that EGI, such as Asian colonization of White nations (not only destructive from a gross EGI standpoint but also from a net EGI standpoint – there is absolutely no need to have any Asians around whatsoever [apart from exciting the masochistic instincts of White omega males]).

What about the “God Emperor” and other outspoken mainstream “conservative” politicians in America?

Well, as regards Trump, we know that, besides some of his bombastic campaign rhetoric on immigration, and questioning Europe’s suicidal migration policy, his basic worldview has always been aracial civic nationalism, The idea that Trump would ever understand EGI, would be willing to even attempt understanding it (he may lack the intelligence to even understand the relevance of it), or would act upon EGI if he was aware of it and understood it, is absurd.

And we see Steve King’s ultimate disavowal of an ethnic-racial-genetic component, even though “culture and civilization” really is a proxy for biological demographics. King, like Trump, categorically fails with respect to the explicitly White EGI-focused worldview that is absolutely essential.

However, King clarified his original tweet, saying he made no mention of race and did not intend for his message to be taken in a racial way.

He said he meant to and only did mention "culture and civilization."

"We are all God's children. We are all created in his image," King said, adding that the political left is the group who often characterizes situations by race.

Fail, fail, and fail. No one – repeat no one – on the rightist/nationalist spectrum anywhere in the White world promotes EGI/Universal Nationalism in the slightest degree, for the most part I’m sure they’ve never heard of it, and they wouldn’t understand it or agree with it even if they did understand it. And those elements foaming at the mouth about “European EGI” actually want Europeans to be subaltern cringing serfs to their Asian overlords.  

Again: Fail, fail, and fail.
