I see more anecdotal anti-Boomer ranting in Counter-Currents comments. My anecdotal riposte to that cowardly intra-White generational warfare is to note that I personally know young White men who have promising professional jobs and also have girlfriends, and who are in the process of endangering their success by acting like immature jackasses, and ignoring advice from elders. I suppose that when they crash and burn, it'll all be the fault of "Boomers."

Something else. When the late Boomers and the GenXers were growing up there was anti-White male discrimination but at the same time there was no Internet and no online community of likeminded people - no, these folks had to navigate through the real world and deal with their problems essentially alone, particularly if they lived in heavily Colored urban areas. Yes, young Whites have it tough today, but they also have a global support network that those in the past did not have. So stop your endless whining.

They could perhaps find small errors in his birth certificate or maybe one driver's license listed him at 6'2" and another at 6'3". All "proof" that he was an invention of Jewish operatives who couldn't get their stories straight. One could examine videos of Pierce speaking and say that the shadows suggest it is doctored and audio recordings of his voice match that of some famous actor. We can then debate this online for years instead of doing the hard work to deal with actual reality, like the problem of race replacement. Conspiritard theories are a distraction and help the enemy and should not be tolerated.

Ok, let's consider the "data" for a moment: if higher intelligence/better societal standards are associated with the distribution of tallness, blue eyes and blond hair why is it only in Italy but such a correlation breaks down in the rest of Europe since no one argues that Russia or Poland have more scientists or a better economy than north Italy despite having more "high IQ correlated" traits? Let's overlook for a moment that actual IQ tests administered in south Italy found no difference.

What a load of bullocks: Second paragraph of the "Discussion" section, they say that the difference of the frequencies of "genes associated with educational attainment" between NW and NE Italians is as much as between each of them and southern Italians yet they explain it away by saying "it is due the nature of the sampling"(!), and at the end of the first paragraph they say that "the limited nature of the genomic dataset with individual data (N = 129) did not allow higher spatial resolution, but it is likely that the polygenic score difference between the highest and lowest scoring regions is of a higher magnitude", that is to say that their speculation aren't even fully supported by their data.

Haplogroup E1b1b has many subclades some of which are predominantly found in Europe (E-V13) and are associated with EEF samples found in the Balkans (where it peaks today), and surprise surprise, almost all the Eb1b in Italy belongs to such a subclade (a minority of true north african E-M81 is found at lower frequency in Sicily and Calabria, to be through though), but somehow it became associated with "north african and middle eastern ancestry".

As above, if now lower cephalic index correlates with higher criminality by genetic causes, why does it reverse in north Europe, let's say between Germany and Russia? Are there two sets of genes correlated with brachycephaly in Europe, one present in Italy and correlated with lower criminality and another present in the rest of Europe but correlated with higher criminality?

It looks like every phenotypic differences between north and south Italians are magnified and linked to traits undoubtly linked to genetics but also complex and linked to other factors (like height that is correlated to genetics but nutrition before adulthood is also very important), even when such traits aren't linked to such traits outside of Italy.

To be fair as far as I have understood it the genes frequencies examined were already known to be linked to "educational attainment" (because I refuse to entertain the possibility they found sets of genes linked to educational attainments while working on the paper; that is they already "demonstrated"- for the sake of the argument let's say they did- such a link in other works and measured the strength of the correlation in the Italian data, so it wasn't strictly a circular argument but a measurement, as it can be when doing the same but for height.

What brings into question the trustworthiness of such correlation is that by their own admission they have found differences between NW and NE Italians as big as between each of both and south Italy, yet somehow these differences aren't linked to the actual educational attainment in NW and NE Italy.

All these people are doing is correlating data points; they cannot point to hard data showing actual IQ differences. There is no "there" there. They are just correlating known differences in ancestry to known differences in "educational attainment" and genes correlated with “educational attainment.” There's nothing there about actual IQ scores or genes affecting actual intelligence defined by IQ rather than “education attainment.” If "polygenic scores" already correlate gene frequencies to "educational attainment" (not IQ) then it would seem the current paper is trivial - demonstrating a correlation between ancestry and polygenic scores when it is already known that both ancestry and "educational attainment" differ between the groups, which means that a priori there will be a correlation, particularly since there is no reason to believe that gene frequencies for any allele will be identical between populations. They're fishing for data to justify their pre-determined conclusion and then they explain away discrepancies.

Note also that in Lynn's original paper it is MENA admixture explaining the alleged intelligence difference but here they posit additional explanations, since population genetics does not support MENA admixture above a few percentage points, which could not explain the large cognitive differences they assert.

An interpretation of this finding is that in Italy, natural selection acted over many generations to produce different population means for education-related traits (intelligence, impulsivity, openness to experience, etc.), thus becoming associated with old ancestry components.

To summarize: Ignoring the actual Italian IQ data cited in the work mentioned at the Italianthro site, which do not show higher Northern IQ, the Lynnites focus instead on the indirect, and environmentally-influenced, metric of "educational attainment." Knowing in advance that there are ancestral differences between Northern and Southern Italians that are correlated to certain phenotypic differences (mostly irrelevant to intelligence and accomplishment), and that there are differences in "educational attainment" that can be trivially correlated (not regressed) to the aforementioned differences, and knowing that certain gene frequencies are correlated to "educational attainment," they then perform the trivial task of correlating all of these together, to "prove" Lynn's previous stupidity on this subject, to the online applause to sweaty fetishists. Along the way, they find those same gene frequency differences between different areas of Northern Italy that are of the same degree as the North/South differences, without evidence of the "educational attainment" link (forgetting for the moment how, as Gaston questions, all of these genetic and phenotypic cross-correlations hold, or do not hold, in other intra-European comparisons), which they blithely dismiss with hand-waving ad hoc "explanations."  Finally, note how the explanation for these purported "findings" essentially predominantly shifts from "MENA admixture" to "natural selection" with equal insouciance. Also note that this crap needs to end up in the HBD journal Mankind Quarterly, instead of a normal scientific publication, where the reviewers would call out the authors for their imbecility.

Let us not forget that the pseudoscientist Lynn also studied Irish IQ, in a particularly stupid manner. He took one set of IQ scores from adults and another set from children from a completely different test, averaged them and came up with a score that "just happened" to fit with his IQ-GDP correlation. The idiot does not understand that you CANNOT average disparate data sets. You can only average technical or biological replicates - that is, replicates of the same general type of sample (e.g., different cell lines of the same type of organism or different sets of mice or different sets of adults or children) with the same methodology (e.g., same IQ test, you moron), either within (technical replicates) or between (biological replicates) experiments. Even if you want to extend the concept of biological replicates to include different organisms (as, wrongly I think, that link does) you cannot average those, only present them as separate, parallel data. The proper way of looking at this is that if you do replicate experiments, using the same methodology at the same time on samples derived from the same original set, that is a technical replicate.  If you then repeat the experiment, with the same methodology, at different times, using different samples of the same type as the first, then that is a biological replicate. The technical replicates from the first experiment can be averaged to yield a data point for that experiment. The same is done in subsequent biological replicates and then you take the average (mean) of those biological replicates and also calculate the standard deviation.  If several sets of Irish adults were tested with a particular IQ test in one year, you could average those as a technical replicate, and if that was repeated in the future (same test, same type of Irish adult samples), those can be biological replicates. But it is totally bogus to take Irish adult IQ scores with one test and average them with Irish children IQ scores with a different test and come up with a "score" that just happens to be precisely what supports your hypothesis. What Lynn did was like averaging the running speed of five year-olds in potato sack races with that of adult Olympic sprinters and making conclusions on the data, and crowing how it supports his theories. Lynn is an incompetent pseudoscientist. I cite the Irish IQ case to demonstrate how the HBDers operate: They start with their desired conclusion (i.e., confirmation of their hypothesis) and then work backwards to generate "data" to support that pre-determined desired conclusion.  Any findings that do not fit are ignored or explained away with "Occam's Butterknife."

A pressing question for psychometrics is - why HBDers, and Der Movement as a whole, has this bizarre obsession with Italians, particularly Southern Italians?  What is the "polygenic score" for pathologically obsessive ethnic fetishism?

An even more pressing point is - when is this thing Lynn going to raise global IQ by dropping dead?  How long do we need to wait?  How long is this elderly decrepit moron going to hang on? It would have been sweet irony if he was finished off by the covid produced by his Chinese gods, but unfortunately this has not yet come to pass.

Well, if “generally” you mean that the typical East Asian woman has the body of pre-pubescent boy, then, yes.

East Asians are sometimes assumed to have evolved in a cold environment because of their narrow nostrils, which conserve heat, and the extra eyelid fat that insulates the eye. But the Broad team calculates that the EDAR variant arose about 35,000 years ago in central China and that the region was then quite warm and humid. Extra sweat glands would have been advantageous to the hunter-gatherers who lived at that time.

These findings also amplify the importance of measuring intelligence directly when comparing groups and argue against using reading, math and science test scores as "proxies for intelligence" (Lynn, 2010a).

Second of all, TOO filth, using E1b1b as some sort of quantitative measure of historic admixture from the Middle/Near East or North Africa (MENA) is absurd; those measures require autosomal data. Never mind that carriers of that NRY include: John C. Calhoun, the Wright brothers, Lyndon Johnson, Napoleon and Hitler, William Harvey, and David Attenborough – hardly Southern Italians. Were they all admixed with MENA?

To demonstrate Lynn’s lack of logic, consider the following. If one thinks that NRY such as E1b1b directly correlates with “admixture” then the peoples of the Balkans are, via Lynn’s “reasoning,” highly admixed with MENA people. But there is no evidence of this from autosomal data; in PCA, Balkanoids (as well as S. Italians, by the way) are found exactly where one would expect to find them with the “genes mirror geography” paradigm. These people are not being pulled toward MENA populations in any manner independent of normal genetic clines that track with geography. Further, there are no unsupervised admixture data that I am aware of that supports such MENA admixture.

Also, even if we take Lynn’s IQ “estimates” at face value, to ascribe the IQ differences (10 points or more) to MENA admixture would necessitate at least 50% MENA admixture or a MENA IQ of 60 or some strange non-linear dominant negative effects of “low IQ alleles.” There is absolutely no evidence for any of that; thus, the “math” doesn’t add up to ascribe alleged intra-European IQ differences to MENA admixture.

Lynn is a pseudoscientific fraud. He commits the most obvious flaw of pseudoscience – he starts out with his desired conclusion and then works backward with cherry picked and misinterpreted data, and bizarre conclusions, and therefore “justifies” his own hypotheses. That TOO publicizes this trash underscores what a trashy, pseudoscientific site it itself is. Lynn’s Italian IQ ideas fail the fact test, the data interpretation test, and the logic test.

This new white nationalism tried to put on a happy face, but unfortunately it had embraced a prejudice just as irrational and just as dangerous as the white leftist obsession with mass non-white immigration. Whatever its short-term goals, in the long run, advocacy of Oriental racial superiority is the logic of white genocide on a large scale.

Getting back to the anti-White HBD Nordicist trash site The Occidental Observer, note how they work with Negroes to leverage the "work" of China-worshipping pseudoscientists to racially defame non-Herrenvolk European ethnies. As the quote above suggests, Amren/Taylor as well as TOO/MacDonald are race traitors supporting "the logic of white genocide on a large scale."

This is surprisingly sensible. It goes against Traditionalist Golden Age nonsense, as well as Guntherite Nordicism. Practically speaking, we need racial separation, genetic isolation, combined with judicious eugenics. Over time, there will be more racial divergence; hence, purity.

As previously chronicled at this blog, Lynn believes in a simple additive model of IQ – that is, e.g.,that an even mix of a 100 IQ population with a 70 IQ population gives a 85 IQ population. Now, that doesn’t work out for African-Americans of course. Now, let’s look at his Afrowop speculations. According to this simpleton’s additive model ideas, if he believes that Sicilians have an IQ of “89” due to admixture of Southern Europeans (presumably Northern Italian types with IQs in the “Northcentral European range”) with “low IQ North Africans,” then he must believe that North Africans have IQs in the 70s and that Sicilians are about 50% North African – both ludicrously incorrect.

And don’t get me started on the mysteriously variable Irish IQ either.

The man is a moronic idiot and a buffoon. As is anyone who believes his discredited nonsense.

And that all underscores the fundamental dishonesty of American Renaissance. Even if a HBD yellow supremacist site like that believes Lynn, they should at least state the fact that Lynn has plenty of critics (including on the Right) about these specific issues, even if for no other reason than to say those critics are wrong.  But, no.  Let the gullible reader believe that all folks on the Right follow Lynnian doctrine. Derbyshire gets his work down to exactly 1000 words!  A mathematician!  A genius!  Stunning!   Er…you do know that Word has a word count feature, right?  All one needs to do is write an essay that is within a couple of hundred words of 1000 and then edit until you reach 1000. It is actually fairly simple to do, but the real question is whether why anyone would want to submit articles that are all exactly 1000 words.  Carefully consider the character of such an individual who would even bother doing so (I doubt Taki required articles to be exactly 1000 words, otherwise there was no point to discuss Derbyshire’s “genius” in this regard, as everyone would be doing the same).

I must say that the Alt Right has pretty low standards for being impressed by someone’s cognitive abilities.  He can write essays of exactly 1000 words!  Another Newton!  Another Goethe!  Another da Vinci!

If it recently gotten a bit more "traction" externally, publicly, is merely due to the altered societal circumstances.  The error is assuming cause and effect - that is, "White folks are slightly - VERY slightly - more awake now than twenty years ago, so this means our strategy is working."  

Well, that is in spite of "movement" stupidity, not because of it.  The opportunities inherent in the right-wing populism of 2016 have been squandered, and The Pilleater Chronicles and Hermansson have contributed to that, not only Unite the Right.  Wasting niche space with Jeelvy, Full Moon Ancestry, and babbling about "Kali Yuga" is at fault, not only Spencer's Beavis-and-Butthead podcasts.  All of you are at fault.

There is a PCA-based clustering between Northern and Southern Europe in the DNA sense, but no one is talking about a disjunctive Nordic/Mediterranean split in the scientific literature – the word “Nordic” in particular is not used.. And it is not just nomenclature; while clustering is possible, genetic differences are for the most part clinal, not disjunctive.  Further, looking at the rest of that Counter-Currents essay, no one is calling Balkanoids “Alpinid” – where is “Alpinid” in the “recent DNA studies” I wonder?- as most of those Balkanoids are more in the Southern European cluster (the Polish and Russian “Alpinids” in contrast are in the Northern European cluster). By the way, are Stoddard’s views on Ancient Rome supported by “recent DNA studies” – you know the ones that cluster Roman Ice Age and Republic samples among current Southern European populations?  Oh, I forgot, Der Movement is making believe that study doesn’t exist.

My SO is an intelligent, fair-minded, loving Jewish woman (I’m a Gentile male). She admits respect for my Holocaust revisionism, but never expresses agreement with it outside us (I don’t often express it face-to-face, but I do write and publish it, under a pseudonym). First – a secret video of a high-level Alt Right meeting is revealed!

I typically ignore Dutton, but this comically self-unaware video deserves a few comments.  Everything Dutton says here can apply to him as well; is one reason Dutton is offended by criticisms of his past videos (hysterically calling it “hate mail”) his low self-esteem?  Borderline personality disorder?  Dutton’s underlying objective here is a Frankfurt School-like pathologization of dissenting opinions.

The classic example of his pathologization of dissent here is the comments about Irish IQ. Dutton takes a page from Durocher and assumes that if members of a population group argue against HBD lies about that group, then this is due to “wounded self-esteem.” God forbid that there may be legitimate criticisms of HBD!  Dutton goes further than Durocher. The latter merely engages in ad hominem to accuse critics of his racial theories as being motivated by “ethnic hurt feelings.”  The former, Dutton, pathologizes those alleged "hurt feelings." You see, the “hurt feelings” are the result of being easily offended because of “borderline personality disorder.”  Disagree with Dutton? You need therapy!  Perhaps you should be sent to a Soviet-style political-psychiatric clinic, you neurotic (*). How Dutton (and Durocher) is different from the Left in pathologizing criticism is not immediately apparent.

Let’s consider Lynn’s “work” on Irish IQ.  Lynn took two disparate data sets of Irish IQ – one test given to Irish children and another to Irish adults, with the findings showing a two thirds of a SD (!) difference in IQ between those two groups – and then averaged the data!  Then, since the results of this averaging gave an “estimated IQ” that fit in well with Lynn’s GDP-IQ hypothesis, that “estimated IQ” was considered reasonable – very reasonable, indeed! – by Lynn and his acolytes.

Now, typical “movement” “activists,” who know nothing about science, may think all of that is all good and great, but to any genuine scientist, it is abhorrent. If you want to average data points, then they have to be from true biological replicates, not data derived from two different experimental approaches given to different sample populations (e.g.,children and adults).  And then to use that completely wrong data “estimate” to legitimize a pre-conceived hypothesis is totally outrageous, is totally self-serving, totally inconsistent to how science is done. Notice that no attempt was made to determine why the two IQ data points were so different; as long as the desired result was obtained, it’s all good to the Lynnites. How would Lynn “estimate” group running speed – average times of potato sack races by kindergarteners with sprinting times of Olympic athletes?

And if someone claims that such laughable approaches are not atypical for “the social sciences” then all that does is underscore that “social science” is an oxymoron.

HBD is not science; it is pseudoscience used in the service of politics.  And if an Irishman objects to these “estimates,” that is completely justified.  I’m not Irish, by the way, and do not have a “dog in the fight” on this matter.  And, by the way, even if it is true that the Irish have the IQ level that Lynn and Dutton claim, why does Der Movement obsess over it so much?  Insofar as I know, the Irish do not receive affirmative action in the USA (or anywhere else), they do not have deficiencies in levels of accomplishment in America and do not claim that any perceived deficiencies are the result of “systemic racism”- unlike Negroes, there is no strong rationale for this focus on their IQ, other than to indulge “movement” obsessions or to attempt to legitimize Lynn’s IQ-GDP correlations.

On the other hand, when it comes to enhancing the idea of a “high-high Chinese IQ” these guys use data that are very likely not representative of the Chinese population – but, hey, as long as it makes the Chinese seem like our intellectual superiors, it’s all good.  

But all of the above is merely a manifestation of “borderline personality disorder.” 

*If Dutton thinks that sort of speech reflects neuroticism, then why doesn’t he do an analysis of Spencer’s post-Unite the Right tirade?  Neurotic? Or how about Johnson banning people from his site for the slightest dissent. Easily offended?

More to the point, how does Dutton believe he comes across in his videos?  If anyone is behaving in a neurotic and histrionic manner, it is Dutton himself.  He reminds me of Strom’s first wife in that old Revilo Oliver memorial service video.  Those of you who have seen that know of what I write.  I am also amused about how Dutton uses an anecdotal incident with an ex-friend to illustrate his point (quantitative science!) - even more amusing, the retelling of the incident is essentially recalling how this ex-friend offended Dutton.  The lack of self-awareness is stunning – no neurotic cognitive dissonance, no siree!

Surprise!  By golly, he also promotes Lynn, and Lynn’s discredited work. Who would have ever guessed?

Refuting Piffer.  Read this, emphasis added:

Think what happens e.g. in Dunkel et al (2019) test. They use PGS from Lee et al (2018), where the prediction test sample includes White Americans of European descent and a part of them (1% in the HRS sample) are Ashkenazi Jews. Dunkel makes just as Piffer, just as described above. US Ashkenazi Jews have an average IQ of 110 and US White Christians have an IQ of 100. The predictor can usually tell that if a person is a Jew from SNPs, as these populations are genetically different. To a Jew it gives the score 110, to a Christian it gives 100. This happens in any sample with White Americans. It does not need to be the test sample. The weights of the predictor are set so that when summed over a subpopulation it works as a predictor of the subpopulation and gives the subpopulation average as the prediction. Consequently, this predictor gives US Ashkenazi Jews a very high PGS score. It is built that way. This has nothing to do with the real influence of the SNPs to educational achievement. This result comes merely from the facts that the average IQs of these two subpopulations differ and that the genes of the subpopulations are different enough for the predictor to detect to what subpopulation a person belongs to.

Did you get it? Piffer’s, and Dunkel et al’s, correlation is a mathematical consequence of the way the PGS is created. It is not any research result. It does not prove anything of the importance of genes to IQ. It is similar to a case where you put a stone in your pocket and later find it, or where you, at some less obvious step multiply your number by three and at the end show, look, it is divisible by three. Of course there is a correlation between the country PGS score and the country average IQ, because the country average IQ highly correlates with country average educational achievement, and you created a predictor which should give a linear correlation between country PGS and country educational achievements.

Some people are impressed that Piffer’s results repeat in each test. Of course they must repeat. The reason there is the correlation is a mathematical identity. It must always repeat, but it does not mean anything. You would get the correlation even if the SNPs had no influence to the property P.

The problem clearly is in Dunkel et al (2019) as they compare two subpopulations, which have different genes and different IQs, and these two subpopulations were both in the prediction sample. This study must therefore be discarded. It does not matter that Jews were only one percent: the PGS score for them comes from this one percent. Piffer’s earlier papers have an IQ gradient in Europe. It seems that the prediction sample had multiple subpopulations from Europe. This is wrong. The last paper of Piffer does not show this North-South IQ gradient in Europe, because the sample was made from Americans of European origins. As they all live in similar circumstances in the USA, there is no IQ gradient. This naturally shows that Piffer’s earlier papers were incorrect because of the prediction sample. The new paper is also incorrect: Piffer includes Ashkenazi Jews, which belonged as a subsample to the prediction sample.

Again, this is the sort of pseudoscience peddled by Amren, and by other "movement" promoters of HBD like Greg Johnson.  You may try and excuse them by saying that, not being STEM folks, they have been misled by HBD pseudoscientific nitwits. But, alas, all these "race realists" and "philosophers" and others have been warned repeatedly about HBD, including by me at this blog, so they have no excuse.  Because HBD fits in with the narrative they push, they accept it.  And, yes, I openly admit to drinking the HBD Kool-Aid back when I was interviewed by Griffin and said some positive things about the frauds. Back then, I just accepted it as part of "movement" conformity, but once I started questioning "movement" dogma, I applied the scientific method to critically evaluate HBD.  It's a fraud. And worse, it is an anti-White fraud.

That is what I call "the America test." How do groups perform in the same environment - the USA (with its mixed population)?   Yes, there are group differences in IQ and achievement (of the latter, for Jews and Asians, some of that is due to ethnocentrism), but many supposed intra-European differences do not seem to be replicated in America. The HBD explanation typically is "selective immigration"- but if they really believe that, then they and their followers should stop attempting to apply their (likely wrong) European data to European-Americans.

Listen to this.  That is a generally good podcast, and they – particularly Johnson – do a good job dissecting the SJW nonsense against Duchesne.  I regret to hear that Duchesne had to prematurely retire because of this outrageous situation.  The whole scenario does confirm everything I’ve been writing the last few days about how activists and potential activists need to be prudent and take care of themselves first. If even a tenured professor with excellent student comments can be forced out, how is some level military recruit going to survive?

I did not like Johnson’s comments about how professors use convoluted and incomprehensible language.  That may be the norm in the fields of Duchesnse and Johnson, but STEM people strive for clarity, particularly with all the ESL Asians reviewing papers and grants (and using any excuse to trash quality White work in order to open space for their own co-ethnics).

A good piece by Strom.  When he sticks to sociopolitical and broad racial themes, and not population genetics, he does well.  Despite my occasional criticism, I am thankful to Strom for his ADV broadcasts in the 1990s that helped form my initial “movement” worldview (Pierce also contributed to this).  Criticism from my direction is never meant to be personal, but corrective.

Richard Lynn: It was in 1977 when I discovered that the intelligence of the Japanese was 3 IQ points higher than that of white Americans. Hitherto, virtually all discussions of race differences in intelligence had been concerned with the problem of why white Americans and British had higher IQs than other peoples, and this was generally attributed to the tests being biased in their favor. My discovery about the Japanese set me thinking about whether other Northeast Asian peoples (Chinese and Koreans) have higher IQs that Europeans. I began collecting studies on this and found that they did.

Collecting studies  - such as Chinese testing done under problematical conditions and confined to coastal elites and college students, “estimating” IQ through PISA scores, and all the rest of the Lynnian flim-flam.

Richard Lynn: I regard the most important to be what I have called “the cold winters theory” to explain the evolution of race differences in intelligence. The theory explains the relation between the IQs of the races and the coldness of the winters. Thus, the Northeast Asians had to survive the coldest winters and evolved the highest IQs (105) followed by the Europeans (100), North Africans and South Asians (84) and sub-Saharan Africans (70). I first proposed this theory in 1991 and it has become widely accepted.

Widely accepted by who?  You and other HBDers and an assortment of Nutzis?  Let us put aside for the moment whether or not Lynn is correct. The assertion that his theory is "widely accepted" is plain wrong and borderline delusional.  Mainstream psychometricians, behavioral scientists, etc. do not endorse Lynn's views.

Richard Lynn: “The Jews of the East” is a good description of the Chinese in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. In all these countries the Chinese have been minorities that have been more successful than the majority indigenous populations, just as the Jews have been in Europe and the United States, and for the same reason: they have higher IQs. I have documented this in my book The Global Bell Curve: Race IQ and Inequality Worldwide (2008).

Ethnocentrism and ethnic nepotism have nothing to do with that, no sir!  Lynn documents this by referring to…his own “work.”

The idea that you can justify miscegenation because of “look at that celebrity” is something the Left (or Derbyshire) promotes; it is the most juvenile and shallow type of “analysis” possible.  Look at Halle Berry!  Hubba Hubba!  That White-Back mixing is real eugenic and healthy!  I mean, these HBDers will say and do anything to promote their genocidal anti-White Jeurasian agenda.

Richard Lynn: Children inherit genes equally from both parents, and in large samples their children have the average of their fathers and mothers. Thus, if one parent has an IQ of 120 and the other has an IQ of 100, the average of their children will be 110. 

Evidence?  Well, you see 120 + 100 divided by 2 = 110, so that's that!  HBD "science."

But these are only averages, and there is a wide range of the IQs of siblings who typically differ by about 10 IQ points. With regard to mixed-race children, in my latest calculations, the Chinese have an average IQ of 105 and Whites have an average IQ of 100, so the average White-Chinese child will have an IQ 102.5. Arabs have an average IQ of 84 so Arab-White children will have an average IQ of 92, while blacks in sub-Saharan Africa have an average IQ of 70, so black-white children will have an average IQ 85, which is what they have in the United States. Of course, these are averages and there is a wide range of IQs in the parents and the children of all these groups.

Even IF these IQ scores are valid, and even IF IQ was completely genetic and heritable – which even Lynn himself does not believe, see below – why would anyone believe that the outcome of mixing is going to be in a simple additive fashion (even if averaged over large numbers of people)?  While some heritable traits do behave in a simple additive fashion, many, probably most, do not. To blithely assume that IQ is going to behave in such a fashion, in the absence of supportive evidence, is the height of childish stupidity.

Lynn’s retardation, and proof of my critique, is amply demonstrated by his own comment: “…while blacks in sub-Saharan Africa have an average IQ of 70, so black-white children will have an average IQ 85, which is what they have in the United States.”  “American” Blacks are not even 50:50 mixes of Whites and Black Africans – they are mostly African with a minority of White admixture.  Obviously then, if we take the IQ scores at face value, and even if we assume it is all genetic, it is NOT a simple additive model.  If American Negroes are ~ 80% African and ~ 20% European, how can you argue that a simple additive model of 100 IQ and 70 IQ is going to give 85 IQ?  Obviously, the genes for higher IQ are disproportionately influential or there has been selection or strong environmental influences.  Note that Canlorbe does not challenge Lynn about this obvious logical flaw.  Lynn is used to an "amen corner" of sycophants who agree with all his pontifications without a murmur of skepticism.  Obviously, this is not science.

Fourth, national IQs will continue to increase in economically developing nations. There may be some dysgenic fertility resulting in a decline in genotypic intelligence but this will be more than compensated for by improvements in nutrition, health, and education as it was in economically developed nations during most of the 20th century. 

Environmental effects, hmmm?

Fifth, there has been dysgenic fertility in China during the last half century. Despite this, there was a large increase of 15 IQ points in the intelligence of Chinese children from 1988 to 2006 as a result of improvements in nutrition, health, and education, and the average IQ of Chinese-British children in 2006 was estimated as 109.8.

Lynn admitting environmental effects on IQ…for Chinese.  For Europeans, well….no. And why assume that the Chinese immigrants to Britain were a representative sample of the main Chinese population?  This is all ludicrous - Lynn and his followers don't even pretend to be doing real science, with hypothesis testing, skepticism, and controlling for variables. It's a joke.

By 2016, the National Science Board reported that China had overtaken the United States in the number of articles published in science and technology.

Lynn of course leaves out that many of these articles are the result of rampant ethnic nepotism, with Chinese publishing in Chinese journals or in “Western” journals that have Chinese editors and reviewers (based on my observations, Chinese also engage in ethnic nepotism in grant reviewing). Ever read any of these Chinese articles?  Full of errors, omissions, sloppy methodology, lack of proper controls, incorrect interpretations.  But someone like Lynn is not going to critique shoddy scholarship, because that hits too close to home.

It is likely that this lead will grow as intelligence in China continues to increase, as it has in other economically developing nations, as a result of further environmental improvements. There is also likely to be an increase of intelligence in China with a reduction in air pollution which at present is lowering intelligence in many towns and cities. 

So here Lynn again admits environmental effects on IQ (see above).  Note that he defends Chinese IQ as being negatively influenced by environment, but he would never do the same for, say, Southern Italians (or the Irish).  Still think that HBD has no political motivation?

Thus, as intelligence continues to increase in China and decline in Europe and the United States, China is likely to emerge as the world’s superpower in the second half of the 21st century.
